The results of the 2011 ASUW Presidential election were announced Friday at 6:30pm. Megan Deganfelder and Ty McNamee were declared the winners . Deganfelder and McNamee were able to secure 1246 votes, while Alex Sullivan-Brink and Jaryd Unangst received 1097 votes.

Total Voter Turnout: 2375
Total Voter Eligibility: 9293
Voter Turnout %: 25.557
Look for the results of the ASUW Senate election, which will be posted right here tomorrow morning

Greeenamyre said last Saturday to open the first recruitment meeting of 2011 for the Naughty Pines Derby Dames.
The Naughty Pines are Laramie’s all-female roller derby team, and 2011 will be their third season.

Pres Candidates Interview with BI: Why do you want to be president?
•Megan Degenfelder: I’d like to be the president because I feel like I’ve been really called to leadership for all students to represent a vast majority of students on campus. I feel like this position is perfect for my work ethic, for my personality and I really just want to represent the largest amount of students possible. Not just a specific group. I would say a combination. I feel like I’ve had a lot of experiences in life in my college life that really made me well-rounded and easily adaptable to a large group of students across various groups and aspects of life. I really dislike putting labels on students and the big thing about our campaign is we want to externalize ASUW by bringing together groups for collective action.

There might be some causes in the world worth running 100 miles in a span of 24 hours for.
On the other hand, maybe Josh Fuller just likes running "stupid" long distances—as he calls them.
Tomorrow, starting at 9 a.m. at the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex, Fuller will spend 24 hours trying to cover that distance. People pledge money for each lap he runs, with all funds raised helping give Mbita, a rural town in Kenya, access to water.
One hundred miles, four laps per mile, $1-2 per lap, would add up to more than $1,600 if he makes the full 100 miles. Last year, Fuller ran 285 laps, or 71 and ¼ miles.

The Student Activities Council hopes to entice students with concerts, roller derby matches, and volunteer opportunities.
SAC will host a free concert today in Simpson Plaza from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Food from S’Pokes Pizzeria will be served by the SAC
“We chose to do a mid-day event to reach out to students who are not usually able to attend our weekly events Wednesday evening. We hope to provide students with a break from their busy day,” Stephanie Long, graduate assistant for the Student Activities Council, said.
