Wyoming (15-4, 5-1) is ranked second in the Mountain West Conference, behind TCU, and have won 10 out of their last 11 contests.

San Diego State (8-10, 2-4), on the other hand, has lost five of their last seven games and is starting to make everyone forget they won the MWC Championship last season.

“San Diego State was picked second in our league [in preseason polls]. They’re coming off a year where they were in the Sweet 16,” head coach Joe Legerski said. “They are very strong on the inside, they have great size, and they attack the basket. I think we’re reaching a stretch here playing UNLV, SDSU, and BYU, and it’s going to be an important stretch to see how we respond.”

Cowgirl senior forward Hillary Carlson, coming off a career high 34-point, 13-rebound performance against UNLV, leads Wyoming and the MWC in points scored and blocked shots. She also leads the Cowgirls in field goal percentage and is second on the team in rebounding.

Senior guard Aubrey Vandiver leads the team and the MWC in rebounding with 9.2 boards a game, and senior forward Jade Kennedy leads in assists-a-game with 4.5, according to Wyoming Athletics.

The Aztecs are led by senior center Paris Johnson, who is averaging 15.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game - both team highs.

Senior guard Coco Davis also leads San Diego State with 6.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game, according to Aztec Athletics.

Continuing their conference schedule, the Cowgirls will travel to BYU on Tuesday.
