Josh Biezuns, senior defensive end for the Cowboys, is not only a good football player, but he is also a sociology student, trying to graduate like the rest of the students here.
Biezuns, originally from Prior Lake, Minn., was drafted into the University of Wyoming athletics program straight out of high school by Joe Glenn’s coaching staff. After playing several different positions under Joe Glenn and Dave Christensen, Biezuns is finally playing defensive end for the second time in two seasons. “It is my most productive position,” Biezuns said.
Biezuns explained he played several offensive positions under the direction of Joe Glenn, but when Dave Christensen took over the title of head coach for the Cowboys he switched him to play defense. Biezuns said he is happy to play the same position as last season. “It’s kind of nice that I don’t have to learn a new technique or new position,” he said.
As a senior in the UW football program, Biezuns knows how juggling college life and being a football player can cause stress. Biezuns said he shared tips with the incoming freshmen football players on how to tackle college life.
