Why She Don’t Like Watching Her Mother’s Movies?

Vijaya said in an interview that she had never seen any of her mother’s movies because she felt uncomfortable because her mother cried in most of them. It wasn’t until after her mother passed away that she began to revisit her filmography.

The biopic of her mother, “Mahanati,” came out in May of 2018. The film’s version of Savitri was portrayed by Keerthy Suresh.

After the movie came out, her sister, Dr. Kamala Selvaraj, said that it was not an accurate portrayal of their family and that the film misrepresented their father. She said that her father’s friends and connections in the profession were not consulted, and that the film was based solely on Vijaya’s allegation. Vijaya acknowledged her sister’s opinion and responded that she valued it because of their shared familial ties.
