The Golden Globe Awards are accolades bestowed by the 87 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association beginning in January 1944. There is the recognized excellence in the film for both American and international television. This year the Golden Globe Awards ceremony was held on Monday, March 1, 2021. However, the ongoing pandemic of coronavirus has affected lot many awards season. This time the ceremony took place from both Los Angeles and New York. The nominees took part in the award show from around the world. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were the hosts of the event from Rainbow Room in New York and Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, respectively. Although the nominee was already announced on February 3, 2021. As this 2021 Golden Globe Awards were the 78th awards.

The Golden Globe Awards 2021 this time most famous organization was behind the awards. This was Hollywood Foreign Press Association or HFPA. They have honored the films and TV shows which were released in 2020 and in early 2021. Now let’s have a look over the nominations and biggest wins.

Biggest Winners of 78th Golden Globe

Nomadland and Borat Subsequent Movie film the two films which were the biggest winners in the awards. Nomadland has won awards for the drama category in the best picture. Borat Subsequent Movie film won awards for comedy or musical division for the best picture. Netflix was also the biggest winner on Sunday night. As it won 10 Golden Globes during the telecast including best drama series for The Crown and best-limited series for Queens Gambit. Disney has the second most awards with five. Amazon and BBC had a combined three wins and Warner Media and Pop TV each scored two trophies. Apple, A24, and STX films each earned one win during the ceremony.

Best motion picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, and many more

Nomadland was the best motion picture winner. Andra Day won the best actress in a motion picture for The United States vs. Billie Holiday. Chloe Zhao won the best director since 1984. Borat Subsequent Movie won best motion picture in Musical or comedy. Sacha Baron Cohen won Best Subsequent Movie film was the Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or comedy. Chadwick Boseman was the winner of best actor in motion picture drama for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Gillian Anderson won best supporting actress in the series The Crown.
