What if….? is an anthology series based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name created by A. C. Bradley for Disney +. It is Marvel Studios’ fourth television series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the studio’s first animated series. The series reimagines significant events from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and creates an infinitely possible multiverse. Isn’t this what the name implies?

What if….? Is there a release date for Season 2 yet?
A second season of What If…? was confirmed as the first concluded, and it was recently confirmed by head writer A.C. Bradley to premiere on Disney Plus in 2022.

“As you know, animation takes a long time to produce,” Marvel Studios producer Mark Winderbaum told Collider. We were fortunate to receive approval for a second season early enough to release it next year. We’ll have to wait and see what happens. Obviously, I do not wish to forecast the future in this new world in which we find ourselves, but our intention is to make it an annual release.”
Although the exact release date has not been confirmed, we can anticipate the series to premiere toward the end of 2022.
What Would Happen…? Plot of Season 2
Because the series is an anthology, we can anticipate a mix of different superheroes as central characters and adaptations of popular Elseworlds stories for the season’s plot. There is a possibility that the upcoming season will introduce some new heroes and villains.
“It’s going to be all-new stories, a lot of fun, new heroes, and a lot more from Phase Four than we were able to do this season,” A.C. Bradley, the show’s head writer, told Entertainment Weekly.
“Hopefully, we’ll get a glimpse of the Eternals, Shang-Chi, and the Black Widow. The appeal of What If…? is that it allows us to explore the entire infinite multiverse, so we attempt to bounce around as much as possible,” he explained.

Is What If available on Netflix?
No. As with other Marvel shows, What If…? is not available on Netflix and will never be. Additionally, all previous Marvel shows that were previously available on Netflix have been migrated to Disney+, as The Walt Disney Company acquired Marvel Entertainment in 2009.
