Kengan Ashura Will There Be a Third Season
Recently, Netflix has steadily expanded its capabilities as a producer and international distributor of Japanese animation, establishing itself as a major player in the industry. The anime series “Yasuke” is one of many such entries in Netflix’s catalog of original anime series — a designation that can refer to either Japanese series distributed internationally by Netflix, such as “Dorohedoro,” or original series created specifically for Netflix’s streaming service, such as “Yasuke.”
The first 24 episodes of the fighting anime “Kengan Ashura” were made available on Netflix in January of this year. Each of the 24 episodes was released in two installments, with the first half arriving in June of 2019 and the second batch appearing in October of the same year, respectively. New episodes of “Kengan Ashura” have yet to be released on Netflix, joining the likes of “Dorohedoro,” “Yasuke,” and a growing number of other original anime series. We have compiled all of the information we have so far on the potential for a third season of “Kengan Ashura.”
When Will the Third Season of Kengan Ashura Be Released?
Both Netflix and the production firm behind “Kengan Ashura,” Larx Entertainment, are mum on the possibility of a third season of the show. There is, however, hope that there will be more episodes to come.
Reddit user Emoninja123 uploaded a screenshot to the official “Kengan Ashura” forum of a YouTube channel that analyses battle sequences from popular culture as an indication of the show’s ongoing popularity.
Video breakdowns of “Kengan Ashura’s” battle have been viewed more frequently than those of “Attack on Titan,” “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” and other popular shows. In light of this, it appears that “Kengan Ashura” is still a popular property, and that the anime series’ producers are likely to wish to tap into this audience again.
That stated, a new season of “Kengan Ashura” is unlikely to debut until at least 2022, given the relative radio silence over the prospect of Season 3.
Season 3 of Kengan Ashura Will Have a New Cast.
Ohma Tokita, the principal character of “Kengan Ashura,” is voiced by voice actor Kaiji Tang, who is also the director of the film (nicknamed Ashura). The wicked Sanemi Shinazugawa in the smash hit “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train,” superpowered tutor Satoru Gojou in “Jujutsu Kaisen,” the intriguing Aikawa in “Dorohedoro,” and many more are among Tang’s many voice acting credits. For the Japanese audience, the voice of Ohma is provided by Tatsuhisa Suzuki, who is most known for his roles as the primary character in Masaaki Yuasa’s “Kick-Heart” and as a variety of characters in several “Pokémon” animated series, among other things.
Kazuo Yamashita, the salaryman who handles Ohma’s fighting career, is voiced by Keith Silverstein in English. In Japanese, Cho depicts the character.
This means that if “Kengan Ashura” returns for a third season, its producers will have to replace Keiji Fujiwara, who provided the voice of Ohma’s surrogate father Tokita, in April 2020 (via Inquirer.net). “Kengan Ashura’s” first two seasons’ voice actors Tang, Suzuki, and the rest are likely to return if the show is renewed.
In What Way Will Kengan Ashura Season 3 Be Different From the First Two Episodes?
Throughout “Kengan Ashura,” salaryman Kazuo Yamashita is tasked with overseeing the powerful Ohma Tokita, who is himself tasked with winning an annual tournament held by some of Japan’s economic leaders. It is revealed that Ohma defeated an assassin named Raian midway through the tournament that the second season of “Kengan Ashura” comes to a close. As Ohma progresses to the third round of the tournament, the third season of “Kengan Ashura” will most likely start up where it left off with the remainder of the tournament.
The film “Kengan Ashura” is based on a series of comic books written and illustrated by Yabako Sandrovich and Daromeon. In the original manga series, the final episode of “Kengan Ashura” Season 2 corresponds to Chapter 135 of the final episode of Season 2.
In its 236th chapter, the “Kengan Ashura” manga comes to a close, and much of the subsequent content is devoted to the current competition. There is therefore a plethora of storey stuff available for the anime’s producers to adapt into a new season.
According to a Reddit speculation, however, “Kengan Ashura” Season 3 may not be an adaptation of the balance of its preceding source material, but rather of a successor series titled “Kengan Omega,” which will feature two brand new characters and will air after the conclusion of Season 3. In either scenario, until we have official confirmation that “Kengan Ashura” Season 3 will indeed be released, the substance of the season is simply theoretical.
