Welcome to Plathville, a TLC reality show that debuted in late 2019 and just finished its second season on January 5, 2021, had a great first season. Kim and Barry Plath, along with eight of their nine children, live a pretty conventional life in Georgia in the popular series. The children, who range in age from 22 to 6, have a diverse range of personalities, interests, and objectives. Hosanna, the oldest sibling, lives in Ohio and is not featured in the show.
Season 1 centres on the Plath family and their stringent Christian ideals, which include no television or sugar, homeschooling, and strict Christian values. Early on in the book, the older siblings, particularly the oldest son, Ethan, begin to rebel against their parents’ beliefs and venture out into the real world. Moriah and Micah, the next two oldest siblings, are likewise beginning to break free from their parents’ influence.
This storyline continued in Season 2, as Ethan and his wife, Olivia, began to live a more liberal, yet still Christian, lifestyle on their own. This generates friction with Kim and Barry, who place restrictions on the couple’s access to the couple’s younger siblings. The second season follows Ethan’s development as he learns to defend Olivia against his parents’ severe and damaging choices.
When will the third season of Welcome to Plathville be released?
TLC has not yet confirmed whether or not Welcome to Plathville will be renewed or cancelled. However, given how well the show has performed and how enthusiastically fans have responded, it’s quite probable that the show will be renewed as long as the family wishes to continue filming. Fans are excited to find out what happens next for Ethan, Olivia, Moriah, and the rest of the characters after the second season finished with such a dramatic ending.
Season 1 premiered in November 2019, and season 2 will launch in 2020 around the same time. With this in mind, the third season — assuming there is one — is expected to premiere in November 2021. It’s difficult to say how long the season will last. Season 1 featured six episodes and season 2 had nine, so the possible third season maybe even lengthier if fans are lucky.
Who’s in the third season of Welcome to Plathville’s cast?
The parents, Kim and Barry Plath, and eight of their children make up the cast for seasons 1 and 2. Ethan, 22, Micah, 19, Moriah, 17, Lydia, 16, Isaac, 14, Amber, 11, Cassia, 9, and Mercy, 6, are among the group (as their ages are listed on IMDb). Olivia, Ethan’s wife of the same age as the main family, is also a part of the major cast. Hosanna, the second eldest sibling, has yet to appear on the show, although she, along with her husband and child, could make an appearance at any time.
Moriah’s boyfriend Max and Micah’s girlfriend Helena were previously featured in Welcome to Plathville, however, both couples have since broken up. Micah presently has a new girlfriend named Caroline, thus a third season may contain any new persons they might be dating (via In Touch Weekly).
What will happen in season 3 of Welcome to Plathville?
In season 2, Ethan and his wife, Olivia, have been at the heart of the primary dispute. Olivia is seen by Ethan’s parents as a terrible influence on their son because she introduced him to non-Christian music and alcohol, and they are concerned that she may spread this influence to his younger siblings.
Kim hurts her connection with Ethan by informing the young couple that they can’t meet the younger siblings without her or Barry present, to the point that he says he and Olivia won’t be visiting again unless she changes her mind about his wife.
A third season would most likely focus on Ethan and Olivia’s lives on their own, with the prospect of relocation alluded to in the conclusion. Micah is starting his modelling career, while Moriah is still deciding what she wants to do with her life, whether it’s singing, acting, or something completely different.
The kids left at home with Kim and Barry have a lot to deal through now that they’ve been separated from their bigger siblings. In season 2, Isaac expresses interest in joining the Air Force, maybe as a way to get away from the family, while Lydia continues to suffer from the family’s division. Kim and Barry appear to have no intention of apologising for their acts anytime soon.
