Nothing would make us happier as singletons than finding that perfect guy or gal wrapped in a ribbon under our Christmas tree, but things don’t always go as planned. A dating advice columnist discovers that some of her dating rules are designed to be broken in Hallmark Channel’s penultimate film in their Countdown to Christmas program.
What Exactly Is the Meaning of “Tis the Season to Be Merry”?
Merry (Rachael Leigh Cook) is a successful Boston-based dating advice writer and influencer. But, despite her widely publicized dating guidelines, she has yet to find love. Merry publishes a book about her real-life love experiences and accidentally adds a fictional, perfect fiancée named Dale, whom her publisher mistakenly believes is genuine. Merry goes home with her best friend to figure out how to tell her publisher the truth before the book is published and her reputation is tarnished by a lie. Merry meets Adam (Travis Van Winkle), the brother of her best friend, and sparks fly.
They have very different perspectives on what it takes for two people to be in love, but they quickly realize that, despite their apparent incompatibility, they are falling for each other. As Christmas approaches, Merry discovers she can relax some of her love rules, while Adam understands he has plenty of place in his heart to try again. Merry discovers the ideal solution to her book when she decides to risk her love for Adam.
