Kansas rocks with UW orchestra
The University of Wyoming Symphony Orchestra will open for Kansas, a classic and instrumental rock band, tonight at 8 p.m., in the Arts and Sciences Auditorium.
Kansas is on its 2012 Collegiate Symphony Tour to raise money and awareness for collegiate music programs. Tickets can be purchased online at www.uwyo.edu/fineart_ticket or at the Fine Arts Box Office.

Woman’s club hosts fashion show
The University of Wyoming Woman’s Club will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a fashion show commemorating womanhood throughout the past 10 decades.
The Woman’s Club will host “Through the Ages Fashion Show” Saturday from 6:30–9 p.m., at Hart’s Alley. Turtle Rock Café will provide appetizers and drinks.
The event will feature outfits from vintage fashions to modern-day chic starting from 1912 when the club first began.
All the clothing and accessories were donated by club members or shops downtown.
Fly fishing hits campus clinic
The University of Wyoming Fly Casters Club and the Laramie Valley Trout Unlimited chapter will sponsor the Fly Fishing Symposium and Film Tour. The event will begin today at 11 a.m., in Prexy’s Pasture, featuring a fly-casting clinic and allowing participants to practice casting with local and regional experts.
After the clinic, the event will move to the Berry Biodiversity Center to demonstrate how to tie a fly. From noon to 4 p.m.
A film will be shown at 7 p.m., in the Education Auditorium, featuring a variety of fly-fishing videos from around the world.
