On Friday at 3:30 p.m. in the Wyoming Union West Ballroom, he will bring his message to UW.
Chad Hymas has made the rounds as a guest speaker and inspired countless people across the country. Hymas, currently residing in Rush Valley, Utah with his wife and four children, has blazed through trial after trial throughout his life to arrive at where he is today.
The inspirational speaker was in an accident at the age of 27 when a one-ton bale of hay fell on him. This accident rendered him a paraplegic and confined him to a wheelchair.
“Chad has most definitely achieved a great number of things in his lifetime, which has most certainly not been easy,” Brandon Kosine, Associate Director for Involvement of the Campus Activities Center, said.
By the age of 37, Hymas had accumulated numerous professional achievements, among them being named Utah’s Superior Civilian of the Year, president of both a communication company and an internet marketing company, he was inducted into the National Speaker Hall of Fame and he has spoken in at least four different continents, according to his website chadhymas.com.
“He competes in triathlons, still plays basketball and participates in marathons, showing that nothing holds him down,” Kosine said.
Hymas once wheeled five hundred miles from Salt Lake City to Las Vegas.
Lending his voice to the spirit of activism and inspiration during the week of MLK Days of Dialogue, Hymas will deliver several speeches starting today and capping off the week on Friday.
“Chad will act as our endnote speaker to Days of Dialogue on Friday with a big discussion and an open forum where attendants can ask questions and talk freely with the speaker,” Kosine said.
Any questions about the events can be directed to Brandon Kosine at BKosine@uwyo.edu.
