“We are very excited to have Pete lead our soccer program,” Wyoming Athletics Director Tom Burman said. “He is a highly successful Division I coach who brings a lot of experience and excitement to our program. He is a proven winner, who has taken North Dakota State to the NCAA Tournament.”
Cuadrado joins the Cowgirls after compiling a record of 93–58–17 as the head coach for the North Dakota State University Lady Bison. Cuadrado is coming off a season in which he lead his team to its third straight Summit League Championship. In 2010 his team advanced to the first round of the NCAA tournament where they fell in penalty kicks to #6 Texas A&M. His team also won the Summit League Championship in 2007 and was Cuadrado was named Independent Coach of the Year in 2005.
Cuadrado joined NDSU after a stint as an assistant coach from 2001-03 at Illinois State. While at Illinois State he was a part of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship. Before ISU he lead Valparaiso University to their best record in school history.
“I am excited to join the Wyoming family,” Cuadrado said. “My wife and I really enjoyed our visit to Laramie. We really liked the people and learning what Laramie had to offer us. I was very impressed with the players that are in the program already and I am ready to get to work with them.”
Cuadrado inherits a team that is coming off the best season in school history. The Cowgirls eventually fell to New Mexico in the Mountain West Conference Championship.
