According to policy, student organizations may request $500 per organization per semester for conference.

ASOPA did not ask for funds during the fall semester and was intending to claim $1,000 under the rule allowing exceptions with ASUW approval.
Opinions varied among senators as to whether these conferences warranted an exception.
Senator Joel Defebaugh voted in favor of giving ASOPA the larger sum of money.
“This is a direct benefit to UW students,” he said. “We see it time and time again on the stage. Its something that our students can see here.”
Senator Noah Hull recommended staying within a $500 total.
“I think this is a violation of finance policy,” he said. “They are entitled to $500. I don’t think there should be an exception here.”
ASOPA representative Derek Epstein expressed his regret over receiving $500 less than the organization hoped.

ASOPA-A= SOPA!!!! Don’t do it!!!
