Swimming, Diving fall to DU Pioneers

The University of Wyoming swimming and diving team fell to the Denver University Pioneers Saturday. The men’s team was defeated 208–93 and the women’s team lost 185–115.

Senior Brandon Fischer added to his dominant season on Saturday. He took home the gold in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and was a part of the winning medley relay team.

Fischer’s 200 time of 2:02.82 was a pool record for the El Pomar Natatorium.

On the women’s side, senior Kelsey Conci was victorious in the 100 backstroke and sophomore Morgan Hartigan won the 100 breastroke.

Four UW divers placed second in their competitions. Cowgirls junior Sasha Andrie and sophomore Carolyn Wallace placed second in the 1–meter springboard and 3–meter springboard, respectively. Freshman Dalton Haas placed second in the 1–meter springboard and sophomore Derek Campbell placed second in the 3–meter.
