1) The Super Bowl
Who doesn’t love the Super Bowl? It doesn’t matter who plays in the big game because people will always watch. Sure, I am pretty bummed that the Lions and Chargers will not be playing in it like I had predicted, but big deal, I will tune in. What I want to know is anybody going to be able to stop the Packers and can Tebow do it one more time to get past the Patriots? God I hope so, pun intended.
2) The Olympics
Every four years we are blessed with an amazing sporting event unmatched by any other. An event where the countries of the world actually attempts to all get along for two weeks and participate in the Olympics. This year thousands of athletes will convene in London to represent their countries. I am most looking forward to seeing what Michael Phelps has left in his bag after his incredible performance in China, and I mean the analogical bag, not his dime bag of weed. Can the USA basketball team rise to the top again, and what the hell is London going to do as an encore to China’s opening ceremony? Good luck, that would be like getting in a lying contest with Barack Obama… you have no chance.
3) Are the Lakers washed up?
Basketball finally started and being a Lakers fan I always hear about how Kobe is too old and that the Lakers are washed up. I look forward to watching them this year, because I don’t think that is true. They are off to a fairly decent start and Kobe is one of the tops in the league in scoring, including his 48 point outing on Tuesday. Not bad for being washed up I would say. Kobe will do well because basketball is his escape goat from life at the moment, which involves his wife filing for divorce. This, I’m sure, made Kim Kardashian excited.
4) Colorado Rockies season
Let’s face it, the last couple seasons for the Rockies have been about as awesome as drinking orange juice after brushing your teeth. Every year it seems like the Rockies are going to something big but end up disappointing in the end, kind of like an NBA star I know of. It will be interesting to see how the Rockies respond after such a collapse last year.
5) UW Men’s Basketball
Coach Larry Shyatt has the team off to a great start this year. It is causing a lot of stir around the state. I am not convinced yet, but I am excited to see how the team does know that they have entered conference play. The real tests are beginning. It’s exciting to a see a team with this much potential in the AA once again.
6) March Madness
No question. It is my favorite time of the year other than bikini season. NCAA March Madness. It is filled with nonstop drama and basketball action along with the sound of paper tearing as people rip up their prediction brackets. It is awesome to see so many college athletes playing with so much heart.
But what do I know? That is just my unprofessional opinion. What are you looking forward to this year? Feel free to email your thoughts, suggestions, complaints, praise or hate. Deuces until next week.
