Transportation Focus of ASUW Working Session

The Associated Students of the University of Wyoming (ASUW) will end their extended winter break this Tuesday with a working session focusing on transportation.

The cooperative session with the Laramie City Council is at 6:30 p.m. today in the Wyoming Union Family Room.

The Laramie City Council and ASUW will discuss parking and transportation topics from 6:30 to 7 p.m.

ASUW President David Kiren will touch on Safe Ride and its function within the community as well as issues surrounding the campus.

Laramie City Mayor, Klaus Hanson will address the council about a variety of issues, including ideas for pedestrians and bicyclists, streetlights and crosswalks and a residential parking program. He will also address the issue of public transportation for the greater city of Laramie, according to the ASUW Web site.

A session called “Living in Laramie” will begin at 7 p.m. Topics like improving student involvement in the community and improving housing conditions will be discussed, according to the ASUW Web site.
