When Netflix announced Stranger Things season 4 would not premiere in 2021, viewers were a little upset. Season 4 of Stranger Things will premiere in the summer of 2022, Netflix confirmed at the episode titles reveal. This was disappointing because we had been anticipating a spring 2022 release date.

Stranger Things Season 4: Release Date
There is always a beginning to a story. The first volume will be released on May 27th. and Vol. 2 will be released on July 1.
A two-part finale is planned for Stranger Things 4. Friday, May 27, is the date when Stranger Things season 4 volume 1 will be released, followed by volume 2 on Friday, July 1. Netflix Geeked Week, beginning on June 6th will feature more information on volume 2.
The Duffer brothers – Matt and Ross – explained why season 4 was split into two in a letter released with the launch dates announcement:
Netflix has now confirmed how many episodes there will be in each portion after a long wait. Vol. 1 will have seven episodes, while Vol. 2 will only have the final two episodes of the season. Season 4 of Stranger Things will require a total of over 13 hours of your time if you want to see it all the way through.
“We realized we needed another episode halfway through outlining,” co-creator Matt Duffer told Netflix’s Tudum website on the choice to go with a supersized season. Originally, there were only going to be eight episodes, but after reaching out to Netflix, we learned that they were open to the idea of adding a ninth. Which they overwhelmingly endorsed.

Season 4 of Stranger Things brings back a slew of old favorites.
Fans can look forward to seeing returning series regulars Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, and David Harbour, as well as newcomers Finn Wolfhard and Caleb McLaughlin. Newcomers Noah Schnapp and Gaten Matarazzo and returning series newcomers Sadie Sink and Maya Hawke join Joe Keery and Natalia Dyer.
Brett Gelman, who plays Murray Bauman, and Priah Ferguson, who play Erica Sinclair and Erica Sinclair, respectively, have been promoted to series regulars.

What Will Be the Plot of the Upcoming Season?
Season three ended on a stormy high. Following Hopper’s death, Joyce, Will, and Jonathan packed up their Hawkins house and leaped into a moving van with Eleven in tow.
The official synopsis of Stranger Things season 4 is as follows:
“It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier.
“In this most vulnerable time, new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.”
“Honestly, the scripts are great,” Natalia Dyer told The Independent when asked about the upcoming episodes.
“Every time we end a season, we all think, ‘Where is this going to go? Where can this possibly go?’ Then we get the scripts for the next season and we’re like, ‘Oh my god, wow, like, wow!'”
She added: “It’s going to be really big. It’s going to be big!”
“It’s not all good news for our ‘American’; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human… and other,” reads Netflix’s official synopsis.
