Plunderer Season 2: Release Date, Trailer & Everything We Know in 2022!
People like to spice up their routines with thrills and excursions. Many people fantasise of being in a planet where an infection is poised to wipe out humanity and they are the only “Untainted” species surviving. We labelled such situations as apocalyptic when we imagined and experienced them through our screens.
Anime shows are increasing the popularity of this genre. The fact that the end is approaching might easily create a massive inevitable threat that the hero or protagonist must meet, resulting in some tremendously high-tension sequences. Isn’t it fascinating? We have one such anime in the works called “Plunderer,” which not only features post-apocalyptic literature but also multiple scenes with action and fantasy.
After seeing the first season, we’ll go over all you need to know about Plunderer Season 2 in this post, including the release date, characters, and plot.
Plunderer is a Japanese anime television series directed by Hiroyuki Kanbe, written by Masashi Suzuki, and produced by animation studio Geek Toys. It is an adaptation of a manga series of the same name illustrated and written by Suu Minazuki. It began publication in Kadokawa Shoten’s Monthly Shonen Ace magazine on December 26, 2014, and is still ongoing.
Release Date for Season 2 of Plunderer
The anime aired on Tokyo MX, KBS, TVA, SUN, BS11, and AT-X from January 8, 2020, until June 24, 2020. Funimation licenced the series and distributed it through FunimationNow in English-speaking territories and AnimeLab in Australia and New Zealand. On December 8, 2019, Funimation released the first two episodes of the series on YouTube in the United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia. It had a total of 24 episodes.
Plunderer’s creators, Geek Toys, haven’t given us any information about the second season ahead of time. The first season was a huge success, receiving a lot of positive feedback and gaining a large following. The series was neither a smash hit nor a flop, and critics and fans gave it mixed reviews. Even though there are varied reviews, those who are positive outnumber those who are negative. As a result, we believe it’s a foregone conclusion that the series will be cancelled because of the response issue.
The renewal season should have been issued in 2021 based on the first season’s launch date, but we’re almost to the end of 2021 and nothing has been released that may indicate the certainty of season 2. We may be experiencing a delay as a result of the continuing pandemic.
It appears that we will have to wait a little longer for formal news from the showrunners. For the time being, we may expect Plunderer season 2 to air in 2022, sooner or later.
Will there be a Second Season of Plunderer?
To determine whether or not an anime will be renewed, the source material is just as crucial as the popularity and performance of the anime. In the case of Plunderer, the manga illustrator, Suu Minazuki has distributed a total of 18 volumes to date, and the manga is continuing as previously stated. As a result, the Geek Toys studio now has enough content to produce Plunderer Season 2.
If you’re wondering if the programme has been renewed for a second season, we’ve concluded that a second season of the anime is quite likely. The following are the primary reasons for renewing the anime:
- The anime garnered a positive reception from otaku fans all around the world, which may be one of the main reasons for a second season.
- The source material could be the second explanation. The good news is that there is enough source material for a second season of the anime. The show is based on a manga series of the same name.

The plot of Plunderer Season 2
Set in a dystopian society overrun by numbers, each person’s worth is determined by an unusual “Check” carved somewhere on their bodies, which denotes any number associated with a major aspect of their lives. Regardless, if this Count drops to 0, the person will be dragged down into “the chasm,” where he or she will be presumed dead forever.
Hina’s Count refers to the number of kilometres she has walked. She’s been searching for the Legendary Ace from her mother’s final longing for the past five years, ever since she was dragged into the abyss. Hina’s perilous journey takes an unexpected turn when she meets Licht Bach, a strange covered knight with a negative-numbered Count.
