Luke Barats and Joe Bereta performed their comedic masterpiece last night to a full house, cracking jokes at manhood, Rocky Balboa and the Nuclear Family statue in Prexy’s Pasture.
The duo interspersed their YouTube hits between their sketches and said they enjoyed the audiences’ reaction to the videos.
“Whenever we come up with an idea that’s great, we immediately make a video and post it online,” Barats said. “Tonight we put on the gems we managed to hold onto, and you guys were the first audience to see the Rocky Balboa sketch.”
Bereta said the audience was warm and welcoming. He said the UW students who opened for them were a great help.
“They warmed up the audience for us,” he said. “It was fun and they laughed. They laughed!”
Bereta said the two were really happy with their Nuclear Family jokes, which they came up with this afternoon while they wandered the campus. The statue joke was well-received by the audience.
The show was one of the first live shows they have done on college campuses and the pair said they were happy to have a new kind of audience.
“It’s fun to have a college audience,” Barats said. “We loved to come to a new city and perform for a new audience.”
