Over the course of the last three weeks, numerous organizations have held fundraisers and benefits. Fundraisers such as Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s “Haunted House,” Tri-Delta’s “Pancake Breakfast,” and the upcoming “Up Til’ Dawn” are only a small percentage of what is going on.
Case in point, we have come from two horribly managed men’s basketball programs.
As a Wyoming resident, I saw some of the greats of the 90’s, and saw Mclain and Schroyer squander the prestige we had.
If Coach Shyatt wants us desperately to attend, I feel he should become more transparent, shake a few hands, and attend the events that are going on our campus. Then, we can actually start to believe that we can compete in the MWC and that we can compete against other solid programs. Until then, sorry Mr. Shyatt, if I have nothing else to do, I will go to your games.

To clarify, Coach Shyatt has attended and spoke at the President’s Barbecue, been visiting numerous sororities and fraternities, and has come to ASUW to visit face-to-face with students. I think he’s been doing a great job of attending events, and I’m excited to have him back on campus!
I was also just informed he was making rounds with the Cowboy Joe Club today in Washakie Dining Center.
He has also been seen at several other sporting events, such as Cowboy Football games, and Cowgirl Soccer and Volleyball games. He’s a busy guy– much busier than I assume any of us students are, what with are bustling social schedules (hmmm…this party, or that one?). Case in point, he can’t be every, all the time.
Couldn’t disagree more. I haven’t seen a coach out and about on campus the entire time I have been at UW. I have been impressed by his enthusiasm as well as his willingness to give a few minutes to talk. Considering that Men’s BBall practices to late in the evening, the fact he makes it to as many places as he does is a testament to what he brings back to campus. Kudos to him, now let us hope it can translate to some good numbers on the court!
Coaches as of late have only attended events if requested, so the fact that Shyatt is attending events in the first place is good. Especially since he’s been on campus for a grand total of about a semester and other coaches have been here for several years and haven’t been seen outside of their own practices and games.

University Athletics – a waste of money. Never seen this coach at a single greek event.
