Repeat vendors will bring their wares to the Albany County Fairgrounds this weekend for the University of Wyoming’s 15th annual Brontosaurus Bazaar.
The bazaar is a family oriented fundraiser for the university’s Geological Museum.
“The bazaar has successfully helped support the museum exhibits program for over a decade,” Brent Breithaupt, director of the museum, said. “It raises money for the museum and is a fun experience for all who attend.”
Breithaupt said that most of the vendors are from the region.
Stained glass art products, wood carvings, old maps, jewelry, shawls and scarves, toys, jerky and sausage, crystals, metal art and dinosaur models are only a taste of what is available for the wandering consumer.

A group of over 40 million people is impossible to fathom. It is the population of Spain and Argentina. Canada has 7 million fewer people. It was the number of people who watched the nomination acceptance speeches of President-elect Barack Obama.
It is also the number of people worldwide infected with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus.
Dec. 1 is World AIDS Day. The University of Wyoming chapter of FACE AIDS is commemorating early with “Taste of Africa” tonight in the Union Gardens from 6 to 9. The celebration will include three musical performances, an informational video, African finger-food tasting and an iPod raffle.
Attendees are eligible to win the iPod if they have an AIDS Awareness Pin – either previously bought or purchased tonight for $5.
“It’s putting a face to people who have AIDS and making it a problem that people can relate to. The pins that we sell come with the story of a person who is infected or affected by AIDS; it’s actually the person that made that pin,” Whitney Chandler, UW FACE AIDS co-leader said. Zach Peters is also a co-leader.

Stand-up comedian and actor Christian Finnegan will be the main attraction to what is known as the College Humor Live Tour. The tour is derived from the popular Web site collegehumor.com, which hosts a smorgasbord of videos from around the Internet as well as an ensemble of live videos from some of the up-and-comers in the humor business.
“We saw that College Humor was on tour. We thought it would be a really good set,” Jason Joyce, lead student programmer for the Student Activities Council, said.
Following his UW performance in 2007, Finnegan returns to campus to win over students and hopefully send them home with a smile. He’s most recognized for his appearances on VH1’s “Best Week Ever” and his own special on Comedy Central called “Comedy Central Presents: Christian Finnegan, Premium Blend.”
Sharing the microphone with Finnegan this year will be College Humor Live Tour host Dan Levy and comedian Tyler Spindel.
In 2007, Levy came away from the HBO-sponsored Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colo., with the title of funniest college comedian in America.
Spindel graduated from Harvard University and writes screenplays and acts when he’s not doing his comedy gig.
“We like to do some comedy shows here and there because they’re so fun,” Joyce said.
According to the College Humor Web site, students who attend the night of laughs might be able to see themselves on the site, as videos from the show will be posted.
The event starts at 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the College of Arts and Science Auditorium. Fans can visit the College Humor Live Tour Web site at www.collegehumor.com/collegehumor-live-tour.

A variety of University of Wyoming student artwork goes on show tonight at the newly renovated Honors House.
The art exhibit, titled “Professio Exhibeo,” is the first show to be hosted at the house, to which work wrapped on earlier in the semester. Members of the Student Art League, a Recognized Student Organization, will display their work there for three weeks, beginning today.
“It’s a great chance for the community to come out and see what the art students here at the university are doing,” UW art major and Student Art League member Travis Ivey said.
“We have a really great art program here and this exhibition is a good example of the quality of our students.”
Ivey’s contribution to the show is a large “en plein air” oil landscape painting titled “West Laramie Switch.” “En plein air” means the work was painted outdoors.
The exhibition includes works such as oil and watercolor paintings, sculptures, mixed media pieces and more by a variety of Student Art League members. Some of the artwork on display will be available for purchase.
The exhibition opens with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight at the Honors House.
“Everyone is excited to have the community come and check out what we do,” Ivey said.
