The Wyoming wrestlers hit the mat for their final dual of the season tonight. The only thing standing between a perfect conference dual record and a share of the Western Wrestling Conference crown are the Bears of Northern Colorado. The Cowboys will look to capture their fifth league victory as the face UNC in Greeley, Colo., tonight at 7. The Wyoming wrestlers have plowed their way to a 14-3 dual record this season. With a win in their final dual tonight, the Cowboys can snatch, at least, a share of the league dual championship. The Bear of Northern Colorado, however, will not make it easy for the Cowboys. UNC is 5-10-1 overall, and 3-2 in the WWC. UNC, which will host senior night, will wrestle at home in Greeley for the first time in over a month, where they currently have a 1-1 record. The Bears will be led by their 125-pound junior Tony Mustari. Mustari was a 2008 NCAA wildcard qualifier, and spent a large part of this season ranked in the top 20 in his weight class. Mustari has compiled an impressive 22-6 record this season. UNC will also get a jolt from their freshman sensation Mitchell Polkowske. Polkowske has grappled his way to a 24-6 record in the 149 pound division. Under first-year coach Mark Branch, the Cowboy wrestling team is a rising star in NCAA wrestling. Five Wyoming wrestlers enter this week nationally ranked in their classes. The Pokes have certainly logged their mat time this season. Three Cowboy wrestlers have scaled the 30 victory plateau, while eight others have notched at least 20 victories. The trio with 30-plus victories are redshirt freshmen leaders Shane Onufer, Joe LeBlanc and Michael Martinez. Onufer leads the way with a 38-9 record, LeBlanc is on his heels at 37-6 and Martinez brings up the rear with a 33-9 tally. The Cowboys will look to complete the conference sweep tonight, before heading into tournament play next weekend.
