SAC continues to entertain UW

Next semester, the University of Wyoming Student Activities Council (SAC) will continue to entertain students with a diverse assortment of shows and concerts.

When it comes to the weekly shows put on by SAC, the council wants to make “every week as different as possible,” SAC Lead Programmer Jason Joyce said.

The variety of shows planned for next semester include a hip-hop concert taking place during the Martin Luther King Jr. Days of Dialogue and a bluegrass show.

A show by the popular Chicago-based comedy troupe, The Second City, is confirmed for next semester, Joyce said. SAC is also in talks with Ten Sleep native Jalan Crossland for a show early in the semester. Both The Second City and Crossland have performed at UW in the past.

In addition, SAC is planning a comedy show for charity, according to Joyce.

During the next semester, SAC will begin a new marketing campaign and undergo a full refacing, according to Joyce. The campaign will include new ways of reaching out to students and a revamped logo.

A lot is still up in the air so student input can be part of the process, Mike Lange, program adviser, said.

Students can participate in the Student Activities Council by joining and helping decide what events come to UW. Members also plan the shows, help out and can meet the performers.

“That’s just as much fun as going to the shows,” Joyce said.

“SAC has booked music, comedy, films, speakers and spoken word, just to name a few. Anything is a possibility,” according to the SAC’s Web site.
