The annual University of Wyoming Graduate Student Symposium, which began Monday, will continue today.

Approximately 230 UW graduate students will share their research with posters or oral presentations. Graduates from the colleges of Agriculture, Arts & Sciences, Business, Education, Engineering and Applied Science, Health Sciences and the School of Energy Resources will all be represented.

Missy Samp, assistant to the dean of the UW Graduate School, is coordinating the event.

“The symposium provides an opportunity for graduate students to showcase their achievements, to foster interaction among graduate students in diverse disciplines and to promote broad-based literacy in graduate education,” Samp said. “Graduate students will share their research plans as well as their completed results.”

Oral presentations will take place in various rooms on the second floor of the Wyoming Union from 9 a.m. to noon and again in the afternoons. The poster sessions will be in the Center Ballroom from 3 to 5 p.m.

This is the 7th annual Graduate School Symposium. It is open to all of the university as well as the general public.

“The Graduate School encourages faculty, staff, undergraduate students and graduate students to attend and learn more about the outstanding contributions of the graduate student community,” Samp said. “As far as exceptional projects, I’d say they are all interesting and exciting. Come check them out!”
