The Friday Night Fever movie this week might make the audience look under the bed for monsters.

At 6:30, 9:00 and 11:30 p.m. tonight in the Union Ballroom, FNF will show the movie Paranormal Activity 2.

“This film is the follow up to the 2009 sleeper smash original. Using the same video camera style thatb_350_450_16777215_0___images_stories_2011_January_28_images2.png made audiences jump out of their seats in the first one, this time Katie is back and she is now the haunter instead of the haunted,” according to a UW press release.

“Just when you thought it was safe to auto-record your McMansion existence, along comes ‘Paranormal Activity 2’ to make static video grays a corner time stamp and well-placed bumps in the night further cause for audience nervousness,” according to a Los Angeles Times review.

The movie is directed by Tod Williams, who also directed the first Paranormal Activity movie. He has started working on the third film in the series. Students around campus have mixed feelings about the film. “My literal reaction to the film was: ahhh!” UW student Anna Katen said.

“It was scary, but the plot line in the second movie didn’t do the gradual kind of build up like the first one. Instead of a lot of little scary things happening, it was one big thing after another,” Hannah Peterson, another theatre and dance major, said. “It was a little tiring and repetitive, but it was interesting how it tied to the first.”

“I completely disagree, I think it was way better than the first one. Especially since it was a prequel; I think that it was awesome,” Hanna Sprigg said.
