About “You” Series

After its initial run on Lifetime in September 2018, the Netflix original series “You” is a psychological thriller. The series is adapted from Caroline Kepnes’s book of the same name.

Joe Goldberg, the series’ protagonist, is a witty and savvy bookstore manager who falls for Guinevere Beck, a would-be author. Joe’s fixation on Beck causes him to stalk her on social media and, eventually, to become her boyfriend. Joe goes to extremes to safeguard Beck and kills everyone who threatens their relationship, but his behavior becomes increasingly unstable and dangerous.

Starring Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg and Victoria Pedretti as Joe’s new flame Love Quinn, the program has been a critical and commercial success. Badgley has received special acclaim for his depiction of Joe, who is described as “complex and unnerving,” while the series as a whole has been acclaimed for its intriguing storytelling and great performances.

The third season of the show will premiere in 2022 after it has been renewed for that year.

Is “Love Quinn” in You season 4?

The teaser for the second half of You seasons 4 revealed what we already knew: Love would return. Indeed, the preview concludes with Pedretti’s character sitting on a chair and reading a book before she looks up and greets Joe. Joe’s shocked expression is completely reasonable.

Love may have been absent at the start of the season, but that didn’t mean she wouldn’t make an appearance later on. With the first trailer for You season 4, part 2 now online, fans have a good idea of what to expect when the show returns on March 9.

The novel centers on Joe’s efforts to stop Rhys from killing more people, but it also includes a shocking twist that has revived the discussion regarding what happened to his ex-wife. Is Love still running strong in You’s the fourth season finale, or is there else at play here?

Yet, is Love Quinn still in existence? She’s not. Season 4 Episode 9 features her brief cameo after Joe takes a sedative to help him sleep and has disturbing nightmares. He has nightmares about the women he has killed: Kate’s friend Gemma, his ex-girlfriend Guinevere Beck, and lastly, Love.

These three women are indeed deceased, and Joe is only having a nightmare. Furthermore, it serves as a wake-up call for him to recognize he needs to stop killing others. Well, I guess for the time being.

In Joe’s dream, Love confronts him about his history of violence towards women and hands him a revolver, ordering him to put an end to it. Joe interprets his dream as a message that he should terminate his life upon waking, but his suicide attempt is unsuccessful, and he lives to see the next season. And then he comes to his senses and resolves to carry out his plan to become a serial killer.

Our hope that Love would still be alive at the start of season 4 was low. In a 2021 interview with Newsweek, Sera Gamble stated that the character was indeed dead.

Though you seemingly abandoned the Joe and Love plotline towards the end of Season 4, I think I can speak for everyone when I say that it was great to see Pedretti again. One of the show’s most riveting aspects was the love story.
