The relationship between Ansel Elgort and his longtime lover Violetta Komyshan has ended. Tuesday at the Brooklyn Museum, the 26-year-old dancer confirmed to E! News that she and the 28-year-old actor have ended their relationship and that she is currently “single.”

In December of 2021, when Ansel’s film West Side Story premiered, it was the last time the couple was seen in public together. The star kissed his partner on the head as they walked down the red carpet.
In April 2022, as breakup rumors were beginning to circulate, the couple was seen strolling the streets of New York City. Photos obtained by the Daily Mail at the time show the two at the Met Gala afterparties a month later.
In August 2022, rumors of a breakup between them reached a boiling point after TMZ obtained photos of Ansel kissing a lady on vacation in Italy. In the photos, a man who might have been Ansel was shown passionately kissing a woman whose legs were wrapped around his midsection.
It was stated in the media that the woman depicted in the images was not Violetta. Ansel also seems to have been scrubbed from Violetta’s Instagram account. In an interview from November of 2022, Violetta stated that they had broken up.

In a 2017 article for Cosmopolitan, Komyshan detailed the two’s chance to meet as students at LaGuardia High School. She remarked, “I assume he had his eye on me, because we were in the same lunchtime or whatever,” recalling a chance encounter they had as first-year students. “I just thought he was incredibly handsome and had no idea he attended my school. Why Did Ansel Elgort and Violetta Komyshan Divorce?
Although Ansel hasn’t addressed the split in any public capacity, Violetta has acknowledged that they are no longer together. Photos published by TMZ of the actor kissing a lady who was not Komyshan in Italy sparked rumors of a divorce. Komyshan stated in an interview with E! News that she and Elgort had split up.
When asked about being single, the dancer responded, “I enjoy it.” She continued, “I am 26 years old, so now is the time to push forward and concentrate on myself.” Elgort has not yet commented publicly on the breakup.

According to Komyshan’s account in Cosmopolitan, the two “exchanged numbers and became friends” after their initial meeting. Finally, the next year, their friendship blossomed into something more passionate. They began dating towards the conclusion of her sophomore year, she told the media.

After that, I dragged her over to Starbucks with us. We became friends after exchanging numbers, and I started dating her near the end of my sophomore year.
