Why Harry and Olivia Did Not They Disclose Their Relation Openly?

Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde have decided to put a halt to their blossoming romance. Following around two years of dating, the pair have decided to take a break. “He’s still touring and is now going abroad. She is focusing on her kids and her work in L.A.,” one source told People. “It’s a very amicable decision.”

Olivia was formerly engaged to Jason Sudeikis, with whom she shares 8-year-old son Otis and 6-year-old daughter Daisy. In November 2020, after Harry had begun filming Don’t Worry Darling, reports circulated that she and the Ted Lasso star had discreetly split their nine-year relationship.

In an interview for Vogue published in December 2020, the actress recounted doing a “little victory dance” with the film’s costume designer Arianne Phillips after hearing that Harry had agreed to join the production, which Olivia had also directed.

“I’m really grateful that he is so enthusiastic about that element of the process—some actors just don’t care.” Olivia said at the time about the ex-member of One Direction, praising him for being “truly devoid of any traces of toxic masculinity” and having a “real appreciation for fashion and style.”

Will They Remain Friends After Their Breakup?

Despite the fact that they are no longer together, Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles remain good friends. They do not have any ill feelings toward one another. According to an anonymous insider who spoke with Page Six exclusively, neither Harry nor Olivia parted ways with the other.

“This is the longest relationship Harry’s ever had, so clearly they have a special bond.”

An informant claims that the difficulties of long-distance dating were a factor in Wilde, who is 38 years old, and Styles, who is 28 years old, pausing their relationship after nearly two years of dating.

“They’re on a break. It’s impossible to have a relationship when he’s in every continent next year and Olivia has her job and her kids,” the source explains.“This is the right thing for both of them.”

Why Did Not They Disclose Their Relation Openly?

At the wedding of Harry’s manager, Jeff Azoff, in January 2021, the first romantic rumours began to circulate about the two. Over time, the two became more public about their relationship, with Olivia being seeing in the audience at one of Harry’s concerts. However, the two remained tight-lipped about their romance.

Why? Olivia Wilde told Vogue in January, “It’s obviously really tempting to correct a false narrative,  But I think what you realise is that when you’re really happy, it doesn’t matter what strangers think about you. All that matters to you is what’s real, and what you love, and who you love.”

In an August profile with Rolling Stone, Harry expressed similar views on privacy, saying, “If someone takes a picture of you with someone, it doesn’t mean you’re choosing to have a public relationship or something.”

They were so guarded about their relationship that in September at the presentation of Don’t Worry Darling at the Venice Film Festival, they did not even walk the red carpet together. Instead of posing alone, Harry and Olivia posed for a group photo with actress Sydney Chandler in the middle.

When asked about the secrecy of her and Ryan’s relationship, Olivia said to Variety,  “I’m not going to say anything about it because I’ve never seen a relationship benefit from being dragged into the public arena. We both go out of our way to protect our relationship; I think it’s out of experience, but also just out of deep love.”

Why Don’t Worry Darling Has Been Controversial?

The release of their picture, Don’t Worry Darling, has been marred by controversy, with rumours persisting that Wilde and the film’s leading actress, Florence Pugh, had a falling out. “The public pressure on them has been difficult,” says the friend. “They’ve had ups and downs throughout the relationship.”

Forty members of the cast and crew felt compelled to respond to the persistent rumours with a public statement in September. “As a crew, we’ve avoided addressing the absurd gossip surrounding the movie we’re so proud of, but feel the need to correct the anonymous ‘sources’ quoted in a recent article,” said the team, adding that Wilde was “an incredible leader and director.”

The Booksmart director told Vanity Fair that she and Styles choose to keep their relationship quiet for the following reasons: To quote, “I think once you crack open the window, you can’t then be mad when mosquitos come in.”
