Where is Joy Behar – Will She Leave the Show?

Joy Behar has returned to The View after being absent for a week, and she has explained the reason for her absence during this time.

According to Decider, the comedian and panellist on The View has returned to ABC’s daytime talk show after taking some time off to recover from an illness. She stated that “I’m here to remind everybody, there are diseases out there besides COVID.”

Joy Behar was absent from the show because of the virus. She said about this in an interview:

She said, “I had a virus, that’s it, a really strong virus. I tested negative in five PCR tests. I did not have it. I still have never had it, but I’m a little worried about getting it now.”

She stated that she had a pleasant experience when she was convalescing, and she mentioned that her family, particularly her husband and her dog, took fantastic care of her throughout this time.

“My husband was very good. He took care of me,” she said. “And my dog never left my side while I was in bed. I did not eat for four days. I was sick and I just didn’t get out of bed.”

When fans were wondering where Behar was last week, Whoopi Goldberg suggested that Behar might be “pregnant” as an explanation for her absence.

That was never going to happen given that Behar is almost 80 years old, so it was never even a consideration. However, because of her absence, Alyssa Farah Griffin was able to fill in as a guest host, which resulted in a variety of outcomes.

Griffin was criticised for her role in the Trump administration, despite the fact that she agreed with the other panellists on The View about the necessity of the right to an abortion and how important it is for women in politics to support one another. Griffin is a member of the Trump administration. It is not known how convincingly she defended her side of the story, but she certainly made for interesting and talked-about television.

Will She Leave the Show?

Despite the fact that she is celebrating her 80th birthday, Joy Behar has no plans to retire anytime soon.

The veteran host of “The View” discussed her intentions for the future in an interview with People magazine that was published on Friday, the day she observed the significant occasion.

“I just signed a contract so I’ll be here for a while,” the comedian defiantly declared. “I have no plans to retire.”

In July, ABC confirmed to The Post that Behar had signed a new three-year contract that will keep her tied to the network until 2025. This news contradicted a report that was published in June by the Independent Journal Review, which stated that she was getting ready to announce that she would be leaving “The View.”

In an interview with People, Behar gushed about the show, praising its long-running status as well as its consistently high ratings.

“It’s really, you know, something that is an important show in many ways,” she proclaimed of the program, which she joined back in 1997. “Sometimes I don’t believe that, as I’ve been here since the beginning, but we’re the most-watched show in daytime. Most-watched!”

“I’m happy to be a part of it. So no, I’m not going anywhere. I’m having a good time,” she added.

Why Was She Happy Being Terminated?

Behar was one of the original panellists on The View when she first appeared in the show in 1997. However, in 2013, Behar was terminated from her role on the series. She later came back in the year 2015.

Behar stated that she was “glad” that her termination took place, in reference to the short amount of time that she was absent. “I was glad to be fired. I basically was sick of the show at that point for some reason, I don’t even remember why,” she said while in conversation with Time.

Behar also shared with People that she has no idea what led to her removal from the show for a period of two years. “We still don’t know why they dumped me,” she said. “They still don’t know why I was sacked? That was very stupid of them. But they learned their lesson.”
