What Exactly Took Place?

The actual photograph was not taken during the Met Gala at all. The original incident took occurred during the Cannes Film Festival in France in 2011, which is when the photo that has since gone viral was taken.

An unidentified individual attempted to disrupt the festival while it was being held in honor of actor Jean-Paul Belmondo.

When the person tumbled down the stairs, security tried to catch him while the paparazzi got the scene on camera and shared it widely throughout social media.
