Taylor Swift Midnights Release Date: Are There Any Clues to Her Upcoming Album?
This fall, the pop singer will unleash brand new music. While accepting the award for Video of the Year for “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version),” she announced the news to the audience at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards.
Her tenth studio album, which her devoted followers have dubbed “TS10,” will be titled Midnights.
Evermore was Taylor Swift’s ninth studio album, and it has been two years since it was released. And now, as autumn approaches in the Northern Hemisphere, she is preparing to release her tenth gift during what is commonly referred to as Taylor Season. Here is everything we know so far about her tenth album.
Taylor Swift Midnights: Release Date
Taylor Swift has stated that the release date for her upcoming album will be October 21.
“I know with every second of this moment that we wouldn’t have been able to make this short film if it weren’t for you, the fans,” she said in her acceptance speech. “Because I wouldn’t be able to rerecord my albums if it weren’t for you. You embolden me to do that.
I had sort of made up my mind that if you were going to be this generous and give us this, I thought it might be a fun moment to tell you that my brand-new album comes out on October 21. And I will tell you more at midnight.”

Are There Any Clues to Her Upcoming Album?
Fans believe that Taylor may be dropping hints about a re-release of the album Reputation because she acknowledged in her acceptance speech that her win was “an indication we did something right.” This could be a reference to the song “Call It What You Want,” in which she says, “I did one thing right.”
Fans also noticed that the singer’s magnificent dress, which was encrusted in crystals, was almost exactly the same as the one she wore in the music video for “Look What You Made Me Do,” which was the first single released from her Reputation album…plus, she even had the matching updo!
And I don’t know about you, but this TikTok video that she made of herself in the ensemble performing to Blackpink’s song “Pink Venom” legitimately SCREAMS the classic album.
Has the Poster Photo Been Released?
Taylor announced the album and posted a photo of the cover art on Instagram, Twitter, and her website. The album cover features a square photograph of Taylor, who is wearing glittering blue eyeshadow and her signature red lipstick while holding a flickering flame to her face.

In terms of its actual content, Midnights will include 13 songs instead of 12, as some might have guessed based on the album’s title. Taylor announced the new music on Instagram, writing that it tells “the memories of 13 sleepless nights strewn throughout my life.”
Song one through song six can be found on “Side A,” but the remaining seven can be found under “Side B” on the album’s cover. Taylor has said that Midnights is her most personal and reflective album to date, adding that it chronicles a “journey through terrors and wonderful dreams.”

Is It Going to Be Emotional?
On her Instagram account, Taylor Swift provided a brief synopsis of the album’s contents, and man, oh man. Buckle up. If what she wrote is any indication, Midnights may very well be the most personal, vulnerable, and emotionally charged piece she has ever worked on. If you’re familiar with her previous work, you’ll realise that this is truly saying something.
She just used two paragraphs to accompany a promotional photo of Taylor, but they were filled with emotion: “We lie awake in love and fear, in turmoil and in tears,” she wrote in two paragraphs paired with a promotional photo of Taylor. “We stare at walls and drink until they speak back. We twist in our self-made cages and pray that we aren’t – right this minute – about to make some fateful life-altering mistake.”

“This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams,” she wrote. “The floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching—hoping that just maybe when the clock strikes twelve… we’ll meet ourselves.”
How Many Songs Will It Have?
Midnights will have not 12, but 13, all-new songs, contrary to what the title may lead one to believe. Swift referred to them as “the stories of 13 restless nights spread throughout my life” in an Instagram post about them.
The cover of the album divides the album’s dozen tracks into two groups, labeling the first six songs as belonging to “Side A” and the final seven songs as belonging to “Side B.” The album has a total of thirteen tracks.
In the event that Midnights hits the top spot on the Billboard 200, she would tie Barbra Streisand for the most number one albums by a female artist. If Swift’s new album, Midnights, were to become a No. 1 hit, she would tie Barbra Streisand, Bruce Springsteen, and Drake for the third-most No. 1 albums since the chart’s inception in 1956. Only The Beatles (19) and Jay-Z (14) had more than 11 albums that peaked at No. 1.
