After gaining some experience in the film industry, Sushmita Sen made her debut in the digital realm with the web series Aarya, which was created by Ram Madhvani.
The drama is an official version of the popular Dutch series Penoza, and the actress plays the part of a woman who joins a mafia organization in order to seek revenge for her husband’s death. The show is about a lady who seeks revenge for the death of her husband.
Sushmita‘s commanding performance across both seasons of the show gained her acclaim from critics and fans alike. Do any of you know for a fact that the actress who plays Main Hoon Na wasn’t the initial choice to be in this series?
Kajol was initially approached by director Ram Madhvani about playing the role of the gangster Aarya in the film. However, the actress decided not to participate in the web series, which led to Sushmita Sen being cast in the role.
Kajol recently gave an interview to Hindustan Times, in which she revealed that she had been offered the role of Aarya. The actor from Dilwale responded as follows when asked if she had seen the Emmy-nominated series: “I did, and I thought the writing in the script was really good.
But at that point in my life, it wasn’t a good fit for me personally.” When questioned if she had to drop out of the show due to scheduling conflicts, the Bollywood diva responded that there were other factors involved in her decision to do so. During her conversation with the tabloid, Kajol also discussed the fact that she will reach the milestone of 30 years working in the Hindi film industry this July and described it as a “shocker.”
“I had no idea that this year would mark the completion of my 30th year. Pata bhi nahin chala aur 30 saal guzaar gaye. It’s too much for me to handle right now. It feels like I started yesterday. Then I turn around and look at my children, and I think to myself, “bacche bhi bade ho gaye toh time toh paas hua hoga zarur.”
(Since the children have matured, we can infer that some time has gone.) I am thankful that there have been so many people who have given me such wonderful scripts and characters, from Abbas -Mustan to Karan (Johar, director) Adi (Aditya Chopra, filmmaker) to my husband (Ajay Devgn), who was not my husband at that time, I have had the opportunity to work with so many talented individuals “remarked the actress, who made her first appearance on screen in the film Bekhudi, which was released in 1992.
In the meantime, Kajol has been asked to participate in the Oscars committee for the Class of 2022. When asked about it, the actress stated that she could not be more thrilled and delighted about it. In addition to that, she stated that she does not feel any pressure in regard to that responsibility.
Regarding the world of cinema, Kajol is scheduled to appear in the next film Salaam Venky, which will be directed by Revathy.
