Is All of Us Are Dead Getting a Season 2?
All of Us Are Dead on Netflix, the suspenseful K-drama about high school students surviving a zombie apocalypse will have a second season, the streaming service said this week.
A sea of writhing zombies reaching out for the camera was depicted in an eerie black-and-white film teaser published by Netflix on Monday to promote the second season.
The second non-English series to achieve that milestone following Squid Game was All of Us Are Dead, which topped Netflix’s global rankings in February, including in the United States. According to the streamer, it spent two weeks straight in the top 10 list of non-English television shows that were seen worldwide.
The program is presently the fourth-most watched non-English television program of all time on Netflix, trailing only Squid Game and Money Heist Seasons 5 and 4.
The information we currently have about All of Us Are Dead Season 2 is listed below.
Which Cast Members Are Likely to Return?
There are still many unanswered concerns for the high school students who survived the zombie breakout in Season 1, thus while the cast for Season 2 has not yet been revealed, many of the main characters are likely to return.
Nam Onjo, played by 18-year-old Park Jihu, and Lee Cheongsan, played by 20-year-old Yoon Chan young, are the two main characters in the series. In addition, Cho Yi Hyun plays the role of Lee Suhyeok, while South Korean-Uzbek actor Park Solomon (also known as Lomon) plays Choi Namra, the class president and exemplary student.
Yoon Gwinam, who is portrayed by real-life girlfriend Yoo Insoo, is the major antagonist of the series, aside from, you know, the virus itself. Lee Yoomi portrays Lee Nayeon; you may know her from Squid Game.
Im Jaehyuk as Yang Daesu, Lee Eunsaem as Park Mijin, Ham Sungmin as Han Gyeongsu (also known as Chaongsan’s BFF), Kim Jooah as Yoon Isak (also known as Onjo’s BFF), Son Sangyeon as Jang Woojin and Ha Seungri as Jang Hari, among others, are some of the additional cast members.
What Could Happen in Season 2?
There are still a lot of unanswered concerns about Season 1’s dramatic ending, which ended with the words “They’re back” in the final scene. They discovered that Nam-ra, who they had been separated from after surviving the mass bombing ordered over the city in a bid to exterminate the zombie virus, was still alive and had been living on the rooftop of their high school.
At the request of On-jo, Nam-ra says, “I still have some things to do here,” adding that “some have already escaped outside the school but there are a few more.”
They’re back,” she exclaims as she hears an unknown sound in the distance, before leaping from the building and vanishing into the depths below.
In addition to Eun-Ji, who was last seen in captivity at a lab—and Gwi-Nam (played by Yoo In-soo), the villain character was believed to have died along with Cheong-san after being blown away by a giant blaze from the bombing, Season 2 could explore the whereabouts of other zombies who may have survived.
The zombies Eun-Ji and Gwi-Nam are both undead and immortal. Human characteristics such as a heartbeat and the ability to feel pain are still present in those infected with the virus.
According to South Korea’s NewsPim, the show’s director, JQ Lee, indicated in February that season 2 would have “a bit of a different feel” than the first season.
If season one was about the survival of humanity, season two would be about the survival of the undead, Lee added. Season 2 could feature a conflict between the immune and immortal zombies and the rest of the undead, according to the director.
A “great world war type theme” could be explored in a third season, according to NewsPim, the show’s director.
