2. The Batman (2022)

Despite being one of the best action films of all time, the sequel would be nothing without the original. This is polished, corporate-approved entertainment with gonzo, cult-film soul.
7. The Hidden Fortress (1958)
It’s hard to deny that The Hidden Fortress, directed by Akira Kurosawa, is a masterpiece. We follow two innocent villagers fooled into accompanying the princess and her general into the hostile area in this fantasy tale.
Historical fiction and 1950s action are both present in the picture, which is set in Japan’s feudal era of history. The film’s tension comes from Kurosawa’s masterful direction, not the plot’s overly complicated elements. As exciting as it may be, The Hidden Fortress does feature some political commentary in addition to the action.

8. Dune (2021)
Battles in Dune are some of the most thrilling action sequences in science fiction that are as bright and brutal as they are expansive. As a result, every scene involving the flamboyant yet skillful combatant Jason Momoa’s Duncan Idaho is a must-see for any fan of the show.
His great power and presence are put to the test in one of the film’s most memorable sequences, a claustrophobic hallway in which he is forced to face unfathomable odds. To be honest, as he slashes through opponent after adversary, it’s hard not to be impressed by his commitment to the role.
Because no one except Momoa could have pulled it off so flawlessly, it all becomes a fatal tango. It’s one of the most poignant and hypnotic moments in a film full of them by the time it’s through.
9. Bloodsport (1988)
Good, but not great, fluff is what Jean-Claude Van Damme has made his career out of. He tries to recreate On the Waterfront with Universal Soldier and Hard Target, but he fails miserably with Lionheart.
With its emphasis on muscle-on-muscle-on-muscle fighting and its use of Stan Bush’s “Fight to Survive,” Bloodsport surpasses his Die Hard riff Sudden Death as his best attempt. Magic After watching Van Damme’s behind in Bloodsport, I realized that Mike had nothing on him.
Van Damme, blinded by arena dust, rage-screams his way to victory in his final showdown with the ringside doctor. With so much adrenaline pumping through Bloodsport, a splash zone is a must.
10. Dunkirk (2017)
It’s a harrowing war drama that is both visually magnificent and unsettling at the same time, and filmmaker Christopher Nolan is at his best here. The film is based on a real-life evacuation in World War II and uses limited language in order to capture the action as accurately as possible.
In a brave and dedicated parody of Hollywood’s war-film model, it employs enormous practical effects and real-life fighting. There was no victory at this point in history—only survival to fight another day after mourning the loss of those who perished.
With a delicate touch, the film captures the dread of battle on the land, sea, and in the air as it actually happened. It’s everything tinged with a pervading sadness that sweeps you up with each new rise in the mountains.
