Yellowstone Season 5 Release Date: How Is Tim McGraw Related to John Dutton?
The success of Yellowstone on the Paramount Network has demonstrated that people still enjoy a good western. With Yellowstone season 5, they’ll be able to see even more of it.
Although the Taylor Sheridan neo-western is a far cry from the type that John Wayne made famous, Yellowstone’s crew of cowboys has become one of the most popular cable TV shows.
The popularity of Yellowstone has also benefited a few other shows, like the prequel series 1883 and Mayor of Kingstown, starring Jeremy Renner. Exclusive to Paramount Plus, both of Taylor Sheridan’s productions are the service’s top two streamed shows.
However, Yellowstone remains the show’s main draw, and fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the Dutton family after the fifth season of Yellowstone was officially greenlit. Check out the latest on Yellowstone season 5 below.
When Will Yellowstone Season 5 Be Released?
Season 5 of Yellowstone will have 14 episodes instead of 10 like in prior seasons, making it the most extensive to date. With all of the new material that Sheridan will be bringing to the show, viewers would have expected the production of Season 5 to take longer than usual.
Although Season 5 of Yellowstone began filming last week, it will be ready for fans within six months. No rest for those cowboys! The debut date for Yellowstone season 5 has been set for Sunday, November 13 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
The season’s first half would conclude on Christmas Day, December 25, assuming there is a new episode of Yellowstone season 5 airing each week, albeit this is not guaranteed yet. The second half of Yellowstone season 5 has not yet been announced.
Who Will Return in Yellowstone Season 5?
When Hauser was asked about Season 5, he opened up and said, “For us as actors, and I think I can speak for everybody… we come together. This is now going into our fifth year.” Specifically, the name drops Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, Wes Bentley, and Gil Birmingham.
Both Jen Landon and Kathryn Kelly have been promoted to series regular status, so there’s no need to worry about Teeter (Jen Landon) or Emily (Kathryn Kelly) anymore.
For all that Season Four ended without any big plot twists, it was clear that Jamie had become a killer and Beth had the knowledge that could bring him down. With the Duttons, we’ve learned that nothing is ever truly comfy.
Kelly Reilly and Luke Grimes play John Dutton’s children: Beth, a ruthless businesswoman, and her father’s staunchest defender; Kayce, the youngest, who tries to strike a balance between what’s best for his father and what’s best for his own wife and son; and Jamie Dutton, the family outcast, played by Wes Bentley.
Others in the family include Beth’s husband Rip Wheeler, Monica Dutton, and Tate, son of Rip and Kayce Dutton.
What Will Happen in Yellowstone Season 5?
Season 4 ends with Beth catching Jamie disposing of Garrett’s body at the train station, putting him in an awkward position. She basically scuttled his political future by taking some scathing images of him.
The future of Jamie’s career is in jeopardy. If Christina and their son are concerned about Garrett’s location, wouldn’t she? Will Jamie be able to wriggle out from under the Duttons now that his political ambitions have been thwarted, or will he be content to toe the line in the future?
Beth, who was sacked from her job by Caroline, may now take up the campaign manager role for her father. Her plans to harm Caroline Warner and Market Equities are not going to stop anytime soon. Beth and the Dutton land have been threatened by Warner.
Despite his best efforts, Kayce’s vision quest does not yield the desired outcomes. To whom did he look for guidance in his vision? Do you think that’s his unborn child, or is it someone else entirely? Will he remain in his father’s role as livestock commissioner, or will he seek governor in his father’s stead?
What will become of Walker since Mia and Laramie are most likely to depart the Yellowstone ranch in the upcoming season? Is the bunkhouse ruckus going to go on? Will they be able to put an end to the argument over whether or not chili contains beans? In the end, will anyone grasp what Teeter is trying to communicate?
In the next season of Yellowstone, we’ll hopefully get the answers to these issues and many more.

How Is Tim McGraw Related to John Dutton?
Tim McGraw claims to be John Dutton’s great-great-grandfather in the supplementary material accompanying the season 4 Blu-ray release of Yellowstone.
“I play John Dutton’s great-great-grandfather,” he said. “Our family is the first to discover Yellowstone and settle it. And in doing that, we are the first to really defend it and fight people off, and try to establish it and then survive. J.D.’s the patriarch of the family.
He’s the guy that had the balls, I guess, to set out and take his family across the country and head up to Montana, and sorta settle this unknown land, this untamed land up there, and turn it into something.”
