Thomas Rhett Early Life
Akins was born in Valdosta, Georgia, to Paige Braswell and Rhett Akins, who were married. He has a younger sister on his mother’s side and two younger half brothers on his father’s side. In addition to Tim McGraw, Brooks & Dunn, and others, he was familiar with as a child.

On Jason Aldean’s album My Kinda Party from 2010, the song “I Ain’t Ready to Quit” was written by the two of them collaboratively. In 2011, he signed a record deal with the Valory Music Group branch of Big Machine Records. After it was initially released, the record became one of the best-selling debut albums and amassed 1.7 million sales in its first year of availability.
In 2013, Rhett also contributed to the writing of the songs “1994” by Jason Aldean, “Parking Lot Party” by Lee Brice, and “Round Here” by Florida Georgia Line. The song “It Goes Like This” was one of the five songs that Rhett and his father co-wrote that made it into the top 10 on the Country Airplay chart during the week of September 21, 2013.
At the beginning of 2012, he disseminated his first single, titled “Something to Do with My Hands,” followed by his second single, titled “Beer with Jesus,” the following month.
