Baki’s 5 Season Has Began to Air on Television!
Upcoming Baki Season 5 Release Date and Trailer, Plot Summary, Cast List, and More
Following the recent release of Baki Hanma on Netflix, fans have shown an interest in a possible third Baki Hanma season, which would be the fifth season overall of the iconic Baki anime series, sooner rather than later.
Baki, the weird martial arts world developed by Keisuke Itagaki, has amassed a large following over the years, and in this article, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about Baki season 5.
There is presently no information available about a prospective Baki season 5 on the horizon (or Baki Hanma). We haven’t heard anything about a fifth season since the fourth season was released on Netflix on September 30, 2021, so it’s still too early to tell if we’ll see one.
However, there is enough manga material to adapt, so the possibility of a fifth season is very real.
Having said that, there are clearly rumors regarding the fifth season of Baki circulating online, which is why we are going to investigate all of the known and unknown information about the program and tell you everything you need to know about the upcoming fifth season.
The Baki Series Has Been Renewed for a Fifth Season
Baki Hanma launched on Netflix on September 30, 2021, with all twelve episodes accessible for streaming immediately after the show’s debut. Baki Hanma is the third season of the Baki anime to screen on Netflix, after the two seasons of the Baki anime that were released in 2018. Baki Hanma is the third season of the Baki anime to air on Netflix, following the two seasons of the Baki anime that were released in 2018. Previously, in 2001, two episodes of the Baki the Grappler anime were broadcast on television.
The Baki anime, like the manga, has a complicated structure, primarily due to the fact that there have been multiple adaptations, none of which have a clear structure; the Netflix adaptations are standalone sequels to the original anime, but that is about all that connects them.
Let’s take a look at the whole thing from top to bottom. The following is a list of all the games in the series, sorted by release date:
- “Baki The Grappler: The Ultimate Fighter” (OVA, 1994)
- Baki the Grappler (anime series, 2001)
- “Baki: Most Evil Death Row Convicts Special Anime” (OVA, 2016)
- Baki (ONA series, 2018–2020)
- Baki Hanma – Son of Ogre (ONA series, 2021)
You can see for yourself that the franchise now consists of two individual OVA episodes (1994 and 2016), the original anime series (which ran for two seasons and 48 episodes in total and aired in 2001), a new ONA anime series (which ran from 2018 to 2020 and had a total of 39 episodes), and its sequel ONA series, which will run for 12 episodes in total and will premiere on September 30, 2021.
Unfortunately, the release order does not correspond to the actual in-universe chronology of the franchise, which you can find out more about in our article, but that isn’t the main problem.
That said, you should be aware that everything in this collection belongs to the same canon anime universe, and that the new ONA series is truly a continuation of the original anime series, despite the fact that their narratives are hardly connected.
For the most part, this does not matter because the ONA series does not in any way contradict the original anime, which makes it more enjoyable to watch in general. This was simply a quick synopsis to make sure you understood the series’ slightly jumbled organizational structure. So, what does this tell us about the possibility of a fifth season?
It tells us that there is definitely more content to be found. Even though we haven’t seen every chapter of the manga yet, there is more than enough material to adapt for a possible fifth season of the show.
However, we still don’t have any specific information about a possible fifth season, so while we might speculate that one might be forthcoming, we don’t exactly know what to expect.
The Release Date of Baki Season 5
Even if Baki does get a fifth season, no one can predict when it will be released. This is due to the franchise’s inconsistent release schedule, with decades between certain episodes.
Let’s have a look at the releases:
|1||“Baki The Grappler: The Ultimate Fighter” (OVA)||August 21, 1994|
|2||Baki the Grappler, season 1: “Kid Saga/Underground Arena Saga”||January 8, 2001 – June 25, 2001|
|3||Baki the Grappler, season 2: “Maximum Tournament Saga”||July 23, 2001 – December 24, 2001|
|4||“Baki: Most Evil Death Row Convicts Special Anime” (OVA)||December 6, 2016|
|5||Baki, season 1: “Most Evil Death Row Convicts Saga”||June 25, 2018 – December 16, 2018|
|6||Baki, season 2: “Great Chinese Challenge Saga/Godlike Clash of the Kids Saga”||June 4, 2020|
|7||Baki Hanma, season 1||September 30, 2021|
Since the first OVA was released seven years before the first season of anime, there was a seven-year gap between them. After that, there was a 15-year gap between the first OVA episode and the second.
Baki’s first season aired two years ago, and the second season was released a year and a half later. After another year and a half, Baki Hanma was finally put out of his misery and discharged.
Since the most recent season was published on September 30, 2021, and based on how frequently Netflix distributes Baki adaptations, we can only anticipate that a new season won’t be on until at least 2023, but we can’t rule it out entirely. We’ll have to keep an open mind till then.
Preview of Baki’s Season 5
The fifth season of Baki does not have a trailer, which makes sense because we don’t know if there will be a fifth season or not. Netflix may release a trailer for a new season in 2022 or 2023, but we can’t give a particular date because we don’t know the exact release date.
Baki’s Fifth Season’s Cast
The key characters – those who have made it this far, of course – will be back, and they will almost surely be voiced by the same actors who played them in the first film.
Additional seasons will undoubtedly feature a slew of new characters, but we have no idea which manga arc will be adapted next (the program doesn’t follow the manga exactly), so we can’t predict who will make their appearance in a future season.
Bake Hanma’s Abilities and Strength
In the story, Baki Hanma is the ogre’s son, Yjiro Hanma, who is the protagonist. He exists solely for the purpose of surpassing (or at least surpassing) Yjir. The manga depicts him taking on increasingly tougher opponents in order to keep up with his father’s pace.
At the beginning of the story, he is thirteen years old. By the end of the original plot, he is eighteen years old. In battle, his Ogre genes can cause him to commit uncommon acts of violence. His opponent, Jack Hammer, will face a bleak “Face of the Demon” in the Underground Arena Tournament Final.
