On May 8, 2000, Walker was born in Cordele, Georgia. During his time as a student at Crisp County High School, he recorded 109 tackles, eight sacks, and an interception. Walker made six tackles in his first season with the Bulldogs, appearing in all 14 contests. A more prominent role on the field for him as a sophomore led to 23 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks in the regular season. At the end of his junior season, Walker had 43 tackles to place him in fourth place in the state of Georgia.
During the 2022 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers selected Walker in the 22nd round. The Packers acquired the pick from the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for Davante Adams.
