For Christian Wolff, numbers are more fascinating than individuals. He works as a freelance accountant for some of the world’s most deadly criminal groups while operating out of a CPA firm in a tiny town.

Ray King, head of the Treasury Department’s Crime Enforcement Division, is closing in on Christian, who takes on a legitimate client: a robotics business whose accounting clerk has found that millions of dollars have been misaccounted for. It’s the number of bodies that rises as Christian deconstructs texts and uncovers the truth.
