Recap of One Piece Chapter 1044
Luffy regains consciousness in One Piece Chapter 1044 Recap. He’s at a loss about how to proceed.

Luffy is taken aback by his awareness. Luffy’s presence becomes apparent to Sanji, Marco, Hyogoro, Kid, and Law. Kaido also notices something strange going on on the roof. We travel to Marejoise’s Holy Land, where the five elders are debating Luffy’s devil fruit.
Luffy’s fruit is called Hito Hito No Mi: Model – Nika. It’s a mythological zoan fruit possessed by a being named Nika who is capable of using rubber in warfare and whose only constraint is his imagination, making it the world’s most absurd power.

We visit Orochi and Hiyori, who disclose Hiyori’s true identity. Kazenbou’s small flame appears and consumes Orochi, thus concluding his chapter. Kaido is grabbed in dragon shape by a massive hand that descends from the roof. Luffy snatches Kaido from his grasp and throws him to the ground.
His Conqueror Haki renders several of the defeated pirates unconscious. The scenario has a comical quality to it, as both Luffy and Kaido’s eyes bulge out following their attacks. Luffy rubberizes the ground and reflects Kaido’s strike. Kaido apologizes for his earlier behavior and states that he never intended to win in that manner. Luffy asserts that it is not a problem and that they should put an end to it.

Many anticipated this given Nika’s mention a few chapters back. However, many were surprised to learn that Nika is a mythological monster and that Luffy possesses its devil fruit. The relationship between Nika, JoyBoy, and Luffy is ultimately discovered.
