Little Fires Everywhere is an American drama television series that premiered on Netflix in 2017. It is based on Celeste Ng’s 2017 novel of the same name. It was launched on Hulu on March 18, 2020, and has eight episodes.

Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington, who are also executive producers, star alongside Liz Tigelaar, Lauren Neustadter, and Pilar Savone in the series. It’s set in the late 1990s in Shaker Heights, Ohio, and stars Witherspoon and Washington as mothers from different socioeconomic backgrounds.

Little Fires Everywhere’s first season focuses on the Richardson family dynamics and how the Warren mother-daughter duo’s entrance in Shaker Heights ruffles feathers. Mia helps coworker Bebe Chow get visitation rights for her biological daughter Mirabelle, which leads to a quarrel with her adoptive parents, Linda and Mark McCullough.

Elena learns that Mia’s surrogate kid is Pearl. Lexie, on the other hand, imitates Pearl’s abortion, causing serious repercussions among the Richardsons. Elena violently removes Mia from the house, prompting Izzy, the youngest Richardson daughter, to set fire to the house in retribution.

Mia finally takes Pearl and moves out of town to live with her parents, while the McCulloughs’ daughter is kidnapped, causing them to follow Bebe Chow. Meanwhile, following a disagreement with her mother, Izzy flees her home.

The disappointing conclusion to the first season leaves lots of room for narrative arcs to be explored in the second season. Pearl’s relationship with her grandparents could be the focus of a hypothetical second season.
