The X-files Season 11: When Will the New Season Premiere?

THE X-FILES season 11 has been given a premiere date, with Mulder and Scully returning. Everything you need to know about the upcoming series, including the premiere date, actors, and plot.

When Will the X-files Season 11 Premiere?

Fox has confirmed that the sci-fi cult favourite will return in the United States on January 3, 2018.

The X-Files will premiere on Channel 5 in the United Kingdom tonight (Monday, February 5) at 9 p.m.

As a result, the UK will be a month behind the United States in terms of episode count.

The new run will consist of ten episodes, four more than the limited series’s six.

However, it is shorter than the preceding season during its prime in the 1990s, ranging between 20 and 25 episodes.

The news has already sent fans into a frenzy and marks the show’s return following the conclusion of season 10 in January 2016.

Gillian Anderson will reprise her role as FBI agent and sceptic Dana Scully, while David Duchovny will reprise his role as Fox Mulder, her UFO-chasing colleague.

Mitch Pileggi will reprise his role as Assistant Director Walter Skinner. The character assisted the two agents in reopening The X-Files last season.

Additionally, William B. Davis as the Syndicate’s diabolical boss and possibly Mulder’s father, the Cigarette Smoking Man – also known as Cancer Man – are in the running.

Mulder and Scully may find themselves in the company of young, up-and-coming FBI agents Liz Einstein (played by Lauren Ambrose) and Kyd Miller (Robbie Amell).

They were included in the last season and appeared to be an attempt to herald in a new era for creator Chris Carter’s 1990s cult drama and test the waters for a remake.

Annabeth Gish will reprise her role as Monice Reyes, a former FBI agent.

Favorite of the public The Lone Gunmen may make another appearance, this time with Frohike (Tom Braidwood), Langley (Dean Haglund), and Byers (Bruce Harwood) assisting the dynamic duo.

Barbara Hershey, Haley Joel Osment, and Karin Konoval will all appear as special guests on the new series.

How Many Episodes Will it Contain?

The final season consisted of six episodes and was released in a limited edition run.

However, Fox has stated that the new season will consist of ten episodes.

Chris Carter and Glen Morgan co-wrote Season 11.

What Will Happen in Season 11 of the X-files?

According to rumours, the new series would concentrate on specific instances rather than tackling the larger alien mythos, which has grown increasingly confusing over the years.

Indeed, episode one of the season ten premiere received mixed reviews from critics due to the ever-complicated conspiracy idea.

“I hope that [season 11] does what we did last time,” writer Chris Carter told Den of Geek earlier this year. “I hope that we don’t rest on our laurels, that we do unique content, that we take chances and risks.”

The X-Files season 11

What Occurred in Season Ten of the X-files?

Season ten featured six episodes that explored mythology and one-off cases.

Each instalment featured horror, science fiction, and even comedy stories to match The X-Files’ vast spectrum of tones during its initial run.

The season concluded with a mythology episode and an outbreak of the Spartan Virus, an alien sickness.

Mulder was on the edge of death after contracting the illness, while Scully raced against the clock to develop a treatment using her own DNA that had been altered following her abduction.

In the final scene, an alien spaceship hovered above Mulder and Scully, beaming a beam of white light down on them. The X-Files season 11 premieres tonight at 9 p.m. on Channel 5.
