When Does Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 Will Come?

Season 2 of Fortnite Chapter 3 is rapidly approaching. We’re in the final week of season 1, which means that everything is about to change. As is customary, Epic will provide a few substantial gameplay tweaks, a new battle pass, and a slew of new skins.

Chapter 3 got off to a flying start, finally introducing Spider-Man, a slew of new gameplay features such as sliding and enormous item-spewing dinosaurs, as well as an entirely new environment filled with bizarre weather effects. In a nutshell, season 2 must fill some large shoes.

If you’re simply curious about when Fortnite Chapter 3 season 2 will premiere, we’ve included the most likely date below, along with all the season 2 leaks, speculations, and official teasers we could find. Continue reading for information on the season 2 premiere date, the battle pass, and more.

When does Fortnite’s second season begin?

Fortnite Chapter 3 season 2 is expected to begin on March 20, according to information on the season 1 battle pass page. Additionally, the 20th is a Sunday.

When is the next live Fortnite event scheduled for 2022?

At the time of writing, it appears as though there will be no large live event to help kick off Fortnite season 2. Data miners such as HypeX claim they have not discovered any files indicating the event will take place, which will almost certainly disappoint some fans who have grown accustomed to a major show to kick off a new season.

Of course, Epic may have something else in the works. As detailed in the section below, the Fortnite Chapter 3 map has changed significantly during the debut season. These feature monstrous holes dug by drillers the size of trucks.

Keep in mind that Epic may be trying to kick off season 2 with a bang rather than ending it with an event.

Season 2 of Fortnite Chapter 3 leaks

While leaks have been scarce thus far, reputable data miner HypeX has identified a new tank vehicle called “TreadVehicle” that we believe will play a part in season 2. The car is already present at Logjam Lumberyard, but it is inoperable.

Tabor Hill, another data miner, also produced a video describing a possible fight between IO forces and the Seven last month.

“We’re going to be engaged in something akin to a battle with the IO folks. “The IO is returning for vengeance,” they stated. “We turned the map, we enraged them, and we struck the beehive. They’re on the prowl for vengeance. Therefore, if they are to attack us and the Seven, they will require some significant equipment, such as [the drill].”

Similarly, HypeX hypothesized that IO is burrowing through the map to reach the areas now occupied by side players and the Seven. They published a graphic of five areas where they believe IO bases will be established, preceded by earthquakes.

According to HypeX, earthquake fault lines will also begin to crack open along the roads immediately surrounding Tilted Towers.

According to HypeX, a tactical sprint component may be introduced to the game’s gameplay. A “clamber” mechanic is also rumored to be in the works, implying that players will be able to manually climb structures. That, in my opinion, means something akin to the stamina-draining climb in Breath of the Wild, or even a ledge grab à la first-person parkour games. Additionally, we’ll almost certainly see the reappearance of jetpacks in some manner, potentially as loot chest items.
