Is it possible that there will be a survivor Season 42?

Survivor Season 42

Survivor, one of the original reality TV shows, is back for its 42nd season. Survivor season 42, which airs on CBS in the United States, is being billed as one of the most intense versions yet. Survivor season 42, which will once again take place on an island in Fiji, will keep the fast pace and many of the game-changing twists introduced in Survivor season 41, as well as the new format of three tribes of six.

But the goal of the game is the same: to “outwit, outplay, and outlast” everyone else as they battle the elements, each other, and mental and physical games to determine who will win the $1 million grand prize. This season will reveal who that is. Until then, here’s everything we know about Season 42 of Survivor.

Cast of Survivor 42

The 18 all-new contestants, like those in Season 41, come from a variety of backgrounds and walks of life. CBS’s 50 percent diversity mandate went into effect in 2020, requiring half of its reality television casts to be Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC). On February 9, the official 42nd cast announcement was made. They will once again begin the game in three different tribes. Ika, Taku, and Vati are the tribe names.

Recap of Survivor Season 42

Episode 1: Filmed immediately after season 41, the Survivor season 42 contestants had no idea what was in store for them when they arrived at the island, but they soon found out. After being divided into the Vati, Taku, and Ika tribes, the contestants had to complete a relay race challenge to earn their flint, machete, and pots.

However, the game quickly becomes complicated. Daniel (Vati), one of the contestants, fell and dislocated his shoulder but returned to the game after receiving medical attention. During their relay leg, Drea (Ika), Hai (Vati), and Lindsay (Taku) are given the option to form an alliance despite being on different tribes and gain an early game advantage.

The trio chose the advantage. Returning to the challenge at hand, Ika triumphed. The tribes go to their respective camps, where Ika gets a sense of each other as they build a shelter, and Vati and Taku play another game to earn supplies, each of which is able to do so. Individual amulets prove to be beneficial to Drea, Hai, and Lindsay.

Any use of amulets must be combined with all other amulets currently in play, but the trick is that the fewer amulets you have, the more power you have. During the first Summit challenge, Drea gains some extra benefits, including an extra vote at tribal council.

However, the first elimination of the season did not come from a tribal council. Taku’s Jackson left the show after it was revealed that they had recently been weaning off a prescription drug that could cause reactions under physical and mental duress; Jackson did admit to feeling dizzy the day before.

Even though he was missing a player, Taku was able to win the first immunity challenge, with Vati coming in second, sending Ika to the first tribal council. Zach was the first person voted off Survivor season 42 after struggling in the challenges.

The host of Survivor Season 42

Some things may change on Survivor, but one thing that has remained consistent throughout the show’s 20-plus year run is that Jeff Probst serves as host. But that doesn’t mean Probst, an Emmy winner for his hosting duties, is following the same script, at least not any longer.

On Survivor, one of Probst’s catchphrases has been “Come on in, guys!” as he welcomes the contestants to a new challenge. However, after some thought and discussion with cast members during Survivor season 41, Probst has decided that the phrase is not entirely inclusive and will officially retire it after season 41. What will his new jingle be?
