The Handmaid’s Tale, one of Hulu’s best tragic drama television series, is getting a fifth season. Yes, the fourth season of The Handmaid’s Tale will premiere in 2021. This dystopian series was created by Bruce Mela and is inspired on Margaret Atwood’s novel The Handmaid’s Tale.
On April 26, 2017, this amazing American television series premiered. The Handmaid’s Tale season four launched on Hulu on April 28th. This sitcom ran four great seasons that were well-received by both audiences and critics in the West. It was enough to score 8.72/10 on Rotten Tomatoes if we jumped on the series’ critical response.
Its second season had an 8.33/10 rating, but its third season was a bit of a letdown, with Rotten Tomatoes giving it a 6.92 rating. Fans are now anticipating the fifth installment, which will resolve a few of the cliffhangers from the fourth season.
When Will Season 5 of the Handmaid’s Tale Be Available on Hulu?
At this stage, predicting a launch date is difficult. We have no idea if or when the season will begin production. This is a series that keeps a low profile during development to avoid spoilers. We do know that this season will be a “turning point,” according to showrunner Bruce Miller.
Sadly, as of April 2022, there is no confirmed date for when The Handmaid’s Tale will be back on our screens.
We can’t let it go off the air on a cliffhanger. We’ll have to wait and see how June’s trip ends, and whether she gets Hannah back, after five seasons. Furthermore, we can read The Testaments, but seeing it all unfold on film is essential.
The actress who plays Aunt Lydia, Ann Dowd, has suggested to ET Canada that the show would be renewed for two more seasons. That would indicate that The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 is in the works, although nothing has been verified yet.
Who Will Appear in Season 5 of the Handmaid’s Tale?
Gilead isn’t exactly a secure place to be, and just because June has gone to Canada doesn’t imply the rest of the characters are now safe.
But, given that the majority of the important characters return, it appears that the following will all feature in season 5 of The Handmaid’s Tale:
- Elisabeth Moss in the role of June Osborne
- Serena Joy Waterford is played by Yvonne Strahovski.
- Emily is played by Alexis Bledel.
- Madeline Brewer in the role of Janine
- Ann Dowd in the role of Aunt Lydia
- OT Fagbenle in the role of Luke
- Nick is played by Max Minghella.
- Moira is played by Samira Wiley.
- Commander Lawrence is played by Bradley Whitford.
- Rita is played by Amanda Brugel.
Joseph Fiennes, who plays Fred Waterford, is one of the prominent cast members who will not be returning to the near future. June enlisted the help of her other survivors at the end of season four to finally extract their vengeance on the Commander by beating him to death in the borderland between Gilead and Canada.
Given the damage that Fred inflicted on June, we wouldn’t be surprised if he appeared in flashbacks or as visions in June’s thoughts from time to time.
Where Will the Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 Be Available to Watch?
The show’s first season aired in 2017, and the creators decided to renew it every year for one season. Season 4 was delayed due to the epidemic and was finally broadcast in April 2021. Hulu is the original network that broadcasts all the episodes of this series.
As a result, you may watch seasons 1-4 on Hulu. Amazon Prime Video, Vudu TV, and Apple TV are some other streaming services where you may watch it.

Plot of Season 5 of the Handmaid’s Tale?
This series focuses on the plight of women in the United States following the government’s imposition of stringent laws in the aftermath of a civil war. The many constraints that they are subjected to are what drive the plot of the story.
June, the series’ protagonist, was a lady who was apprehended by the authorities. She attempted to flee to Canada with her family but was apprehended. Later, she was compelled to serve as the commander’s handmaid, Fred Waterford.
June and her fellow Handmaids had sparked a revolution, as you saw in the third season of the narrative. Those ladies’ immense power and confidence make it appear as if they will not back down from this revolution. The series will lead you to take a few steps closer to humanity.
