Charmed Season 4: Everything You Need To Know!

Reboots can be dangerous, but The CW’s “Charmed” has demonstrated that lightning can strike twice in the same place under the right circumstances. Mel (Melonie Diaz), Macy (Madeleine Mantock), and Maggie (Shannen Doherty) replaced the original’s famed pop culture witches Phoebe (Alyssa Milano), Piper (Holly Marie Combs), and Prue (Shannen Doherty) in the 2018 revival (Sarah Jeffery). However, their fundamental power set stays the same, and there are more than enough familiar, effective features from the original show to make the show a must-watch for new and old fans alike… even though the original “Charmed” cast has blasted the reboot.

The original “Charmed” lasted eight seasons, so the current version has a ways to go now, but by Season 4, it will be halfway there. However, when will the season begin? What will the storey be, and who can you anticipate returning? Here’s all we know so far about “Charmed” Season 4’s release date, actors, and narrative.

When will Charmed Season 4 be released?

Unless a show has already been renewed for a second season, it can be difficult to anticipate when — or even if — a new season will premiere. Fortunately, The CW has not been twiddling its thumbs on Season 4 of “Charmed.” Season 3 premiered on January 24, 2021, and “Charmed” was already renewed for Season 4 in February, along with 11 other shows the network obviously values (via Deadline).

As a result, we now know when the new season will begin. When it will air is another matter. Season 1 premiered on October 14, 2018, and Season 2 premiered on October 11, 2019. Things get a little strange when the third season premieres in January 2021, although as Deadline writes, the production encountered some difficulties due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

Using this information, the production cycle of the show may be estimated to be around the length of a calendar year under typical circumstances. Given the early Season 4 pickup, the show is likely to restart its year-long production cycle, with “Charmed” Season 4 scheduled to premiere in January 2022.

What is Charmed Season 4’s plot?

Given that the fourth season is still a long way off, the only approach to gain a sense of its prospective plotlines is to examine how “Charmed” Season 3 ended, which, in turn, cannot be addressed until the season concludes. The Charmed Ones face off against the Whispering Evil in the show’s penultimate episode, a formless evil who used their comrade Jordan (Jordan Donica) to escape the prison realm known as the Tomb of Chaos.

While this is undoubtedly thrilling, it is not particularly useful in forecasting how the programme will proceed into its fourth season. After all, the programme still has the option of concluding any of its plotlines by the end of Season 3 or expanding on them and ending in a major cliffhanger. The most intriguing scenario here is, of course, whether the show will pick up on the show’s most significant storey beat from the original’s third season and murder — or at the very least badly discomfort — one of the sisters. In a show filled with magic and rapidly shifting scenarios, there is no way to predict what will happen until it does… but isn’t that part of the charm?

Who is the Charmed Season 4 cast?

Early in the Season 4 production process, “Charmed” received shocking casting news. As was the case with its previous series, the “Charmed” revival will lose one of its central witches before its fourth season. Madeleine Mantock, who portrays Macy, has been fired from the show. Melonie Diaz’s Mel and Sarah Jeffery’s Maggie are both still alive and well, and it’s probably safe to say that they’re almost certain to return in the new season, but who knows for certain at this point? In a similar vein, Harry Greenwood, Rupert Evans’ Whitelighter, is almost expected to return.

On September 8, “Charmed” announced that it had found a permanent successor for Mantock. As Rose McGowan did before her, Australian actress Lucy Barrett will join the coven to complete it (via TVLine). Season 4 also introduces a new writing trio as showrunners, who collectively gifted us with the following cryptic quote about Barrett’s mysterious character: “What we can say is that she is an artist with a wild, unpredictable zest for life and a one-of-a-kind perspective on the world that benefits her art, which is her life’s passion. She’s witty, irreverent, impulsive, and strong-willed, and she’ll inject new vitality into the Power of Three.”

The rest of the cast, on the other hand, remains to be seen. You can definitely count on a brand-new, as-yet-unknown big evil and a few additional characters to add spice to the proceedings. The show’s first three seasons have already featured a slew of intriguing characters, all of whom — or at least the surviving ones — might conceivably return if the plot requires it. We play the waiting game until definite casting news or confirmations of returning characters emerge, or until the first trailer is released.
