Euphoria Season 2: Plot, Cast, Trailers, Updates & Spoilers for 2022!
Prepare to tune into the new season of HBO’s teen drama Euphoria, which has premiered. And we, for one, couldn’t be happier. The gritty drama’s first season began in June 2019 and follows a group of teenagers as they experiment with sex, become entangled in the world of social media, and battle mental health.
Following the premiere of season one, HBO’s senior vice president of programming, Francesca Orsi, stated that the show has ‘created a fantastic world with an extraordinary ensemble led by the tremendously gifted Zendaya.’ Since the premiere of season one, Zendaya has garnered widespread appreciation for her portrayal of protagonist Rue Bennett, who struggles with drug addiction and mental health.
Additionally, the actor earned the prize for ‘Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series’ at the 72nd Emmy Awards in 2020, becoming her the youngest performer to ever win such an honor. ‘I just want to say that there is hope in our young people .
I know our television show is not always a shining example of that – but there is hope in our young people, and I want to say to all my peers out there doing the work in the streets, “I see you, I admire you, and I thank you,”‘ she said upon receiving the award. Zendaya’s ex-boyfriend Jacob Elordi, who portrays the series’ antagonist Nate Jacobs, also appeared in the show.
What Is the Plot of Euphoria Season 2?
Bennett overdosed in season one’s eighth episode (‘And Salt the Earth Behind You’), after the person she loves – Jules Vaughn (Hunter Schafer) – abandoned her on a train platform. Season two picks up immediately following Bennett’s relapse. She had been sober for three months prior.

Who Will Star in Euphoria’s Second Season?
Along with Zendaya, previous season’s cast members reprise their roles, including Bennett’s closest friend Lexi Howard (Maude Apatow), the self-assured Maddy Perez (Alexa Demie), and Jules Vaughn (Hunter Schafer). Minka Kelly of Friday Night Lights, who will portray a drug-addicted housewife, as well as Indie musician Dominic Fike and rapper Lil Meech, have been added to the cast.
However, it appears as though Zendaya‘s reputed beau Tom Holland has been auditioning for roles for a while. During the promotional tour for their new picture Spider-Man: No Way Home, the actor was asked in an IMDb video by a fan if he would consider making a cameo appearance in Euphoria.
