Country Comfort Season 2 Be Released: Cast, Plot, Trailer & Everything You Need to Know!
While multi-camera comedies have been on the decline on broadcast television, Netflix has had some success with them in recent years, with shows like The Ranch and Fuller House. Country Comfort is the newest addition to the streaming service’s multi-cam comedy lineup, and it has everything it takes to wow fans with its comforting blend of Southern charm and musical performances sprinkled throughout the episodes.
The sitcom, created by Caryn Lucas (The Nanny), stars Katharine McPhee as Bailey Hart, a want to be a country singer who finds herself in need of direction after her career stalls and her longtime boyfriend Boone (Eric Balfour) leaves her in the same night. She winds up working as a nanny for the five musically gifted children of Beau (Eddie Cibrian), a rough rancher whose wife died two years before the series began.
The kids grow to love Bailey like family throughout the 10-episode first season, including Cassidy (Shiloh Verrico), who misses her mother terribly and initially, resists Bailey’s presence in their life. Summer (Janet Varney), Beau’s tense girlfriend, is also troubled by Bailey’s presence, as she wishes nothing more than for the kids to embrace her and regard her as the mother figure they’ve been lacking.
When will the second season of Country Comfort be released?
On Friday, March 19, the first season of Country Comfort premiered on Netflix. The streaming service has yet to announce whether or not the show will be renewed for a second season after its first 10-episode run. But that’s to be anticipated, given how early the game is.
Typically, if a Netflix series performs well, the company will decide whether or not to renew it within a month or two of its premiere. Perhaps even sooner. Once that happens, it might take anywhere from 10 months to a year for fresh episodes to get on the service, as it did with Fuller House. If Netflix decides to continue this musical comedy for a second season, we may expect to see new episodes sometime in the first quarter of 2022, if not sooner.
Who is in the second season of Country Comfort’s cast?
While the second season of Country Comfort has yet to be confirmed, it’s reasonable to assume Katharine McPhee will reprise her role as Bailey if and when the program is renewed. The same can be said for Eddie Cibrian, who plays the family patriarch Beau, and his five offspring, Ricardo Hurtado, Jamie Martin Mann, Pyper Braun, Shiloh Verrico, Cassidy, and Dylan, who are all played by young actors.
Janet Varney, who played Summer, Beau’s girlfriend, is likely to return as a guest or recurring character, though the look she saw between Beau and Bailey at the end of the season could portend trouble for the couple shortly.
Kirrilee Berger, who plays Jo, the family’s next-door neighbor and Brody’s best friend (and hidden crush), is also expected to return. Eric Balfour, on the other hand, seems a little less certain to return, given how things ended with Bailey and Boone in the season finale.
What is the plot of Season 2 of Country Comfort?
The second season of Country Comfort will have to confront the events of the first season, which saw Bailey preparing to perform on stage with Boone for a chance to be featured on a TV show. Boone, however, had to withdraw at the last minute after being offered the opportunity to open for Keith Urban’s band. And this was just a few months after he proposed to Bailey earlier in the season!
Bailey was heartbroken for the second time, and she wanted to quit the race and give up her opportunity at fame — not even a heart-to-heart with Beau could persuade her otherwise. They all sang Rascal Flatts’ “Bless the Broken Road” together as a band after she witnessed the youngsters walk up on stage to urge her to persevere and not give up on her dream.
Summer was disappointed when the season ended with Beau looking at Bailey with the equivalent of cartoon hearts in his eyes. The question of whether Bailey made it onto the TV show was left unresolved, thus it appears that this will be addressed in season 2.
