What is Pavlov?
Pavlov (also known as Pavlov VR) is a multiplayer virtual reality first-person shooter in which players will fight in fast-paced compact levels with gameplay elements that are comparable to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Pavlov is currently in development. In PvP modes, players will employ an assortment of weapons to murder each other and bots, while in the PvE zombies mode, players will combat AI Zombies. The game has a strong emphasis on the community, and it includes reloading mechanics as well as features for both modern and WWII weaponry.
The game may be played on VR headsets that are compatible with Steam, Oculus Quest, and Oculus Quest 2, as well as on the HTC Vive. In addition to Steam, the game was launched on the Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2 for the App Lab on March 31, 2021, on the Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2.
Davevillz, the developer of Pavlov on Quest, has announced that the official Oculus Store version of the game, dubbed Pavlov Shack, will cost $24 USD.
Pavlov’s Release On Quest And PSVR2
A series of subsequent tweets from the developer confirms that it will be coming to PSVR as well, but specifically the new unannounced headset, commonly known as PSVR2 because the existing PSVR “doesn’t have the fidelity for Pavlov,” according to the developer.
The developer also adds that the PSVR 2 edition of Pavlov Shack will be compatible with the Quest version of the game, but that the PC version, just dubbed Pavlov, is too “bleeding edge” and will not be compatible with either the PSVR 2 or the Quest versions. Another tweet mentions that the PC VR version would receive new features in the near future, including DLSS2 and dynamic lighting, among other things.
While not nearly up to the standards of the PC VR edition, the Quest 2 version of Pavlov Shack does appear to be fairly remarkable in the most current gameplay clip we got a glimpse of earlier this year.
Of course, Pavlov Shack Beta is still on its way to App Lab on Quest, where it will be available for free, but there is no set timetable for when that will happen. It appears that the creators are still waiting for Oculus to approve their App Lab application.
However, they want to submit it “to the Store” later this year, which should mean that it will be available on the official Oculus Quest store alongside other titles such as Onward, Contractors, Population: One, Hyper Dash, and others sooner rather than later in the future.
