What Is The Meaning of “Fake Body” In Tiktok?
What Is “Fake Body” All About?
TikTok is a veritable content jungle, with millions of videos being uploaded on a daily basis. The app has a massive user base that communicates and connects on a regular basis with one another. Users come up with new phrases in order to appear new and interesting. Non-users, on the other hand, may find these phrases strange and unfamiliar.
The phrase “fake body.” is one such expression that has recently gained popularity. Tippers include the words in their videos and captions along with a caution mark emoji, which has caused some confusion among the general public about what the words mean.
Urban Dictionary describes “fake body” as:
“TikTok editors add this to the captions of their videos, usually including a minor with a cropped top on/bikini, so their videos don’t get taken down for ‘minor safety’ or ‘n**ity’ etc.”
On TikTok, “Fake body” has become a new trending term
This is a word that content creators use to get around the app’s content detection system and prevent their videos from being taken down or from being banned from the platform entirely.
It is speculated that cosplayers were the ones who started the trend on the app, as their videos were removed because of their overly revealing costumes. They began to include the phrase “fake body” as a disclaimer that the skin was actually a part of the costumes that were worn over their actual bodies.
This prevented their videos from being deleted and provided encouragement to other users who were experiencing the same problem. As a precaution, those who dress in crop tops or shorts should include the tag in their outfits.
What is the stance of Tiktok on “Fake Body”?
Tiktok has strict policies against skin-showing on the platform, which are particularly strict when it comes to minors. One section of their guidelines stated:
“We do not allow n**ity, p***ography, or s**ually explicit content on our platform. We do not tolerate activities that perpetuate the abuse, harm, endangerment, or exploitation of minors. Any content, including animation or digitally created or manipulated media, that depicts abuse, exploitation, or n**ity of minors is a violation on our platform and will be removed when detected.”
Although not only videos are being deleted, the app has a history of deleting videos that contain any adult or cursing language in the published media or caption. As a result, users have had to get creative and come up with alternatives. For example, the word s*x is written as ‘seggs’ or the’s-word,’ and the word s**t, which is represented by the poop emoji, is written as’s**t.’
